The other 25 spellpower is because lunar spellpower won't be stacking with the profane boost anymore.

It should be changed to a reaper bonus, and buffed since the value is way to low (30/60/90).

In case you did not know, profane spellpower from gearsets like iod/rl never stacked with the reaper boost.
Yes, i had know that, but i didn't know that the lunar gem stacked.

They’re quick to issue nerfs, yet the Pale Master tree’s PRR and the Lich’s negative healing amplification have never stacked with gear because they’re the same type—and they still haven't fixed it. And it’s not for lack of me reporting it dozens of times.

So, to clarify, casters are NOT getting a "balance" pass to bring them more in line with ranged and melee but are instead getting some milk-toast wet paper sack BS that makes them practically worse that what they currently are given the Feat Tax combined with non-stacking effects?

Spot on from the SSG play book.

Y'all are really bad at this. The caster level bump and SP reduction IS the failed "smoke and mirrors" you thought would hide the FACT that you are making casters worse off than what they currently are.

But go ahead and "shake up your meta".

I am sure it will drive store sales on pillows to bite down on while you *ahem* "Balance" our Pass...

They know how to Nerf Player Benefitting Bugs, but they cannot FIX Player Inconvenience? COME ON!
But weren't you the one who spent months ranting and raving because the devs were taking so long to fix the Legendary Dreadnought action boost bug? And now you're complaining because they're fixing another similar bug? What is it—do they only have to fix the bugs *you* don't use?

It’s a bug; of course it needs to be fixed. Stop whining and acting so hypocritically. You can't complain when they don't fix a bug you don't use, and then whine when they fix one you *are* using.

I’ve been playing this game for so long and all these caster set/augment bonuses still confuses me. I still have no idea what sets stacks with each other. This should had been addressed a long time ago. Simplifying this will help everyone. So are all the sets now the same bonus type as sun/moon augments?

Only with solar gems. We still don't have Lunar Crit Damage or Lunar Spell Crit Chance.

it is however a persistent spell, and persistent spells are explicitly called as not as not triggering mastery of X feats
Just to clarify: Call Lightning Storm is just a buff and not a persistent cloud/wall spell like Torc described. And again, while it's possible the developers don't want the mastery feat to work on the Call Lightning Storm buff, I don't see why it shouldn't. Technically, it's just a buff that makes your character cast a spell on a random target for its duration, and each proc is technically a direct damage spell—much like the standard Call Lightning spell.

Call lightning storm is a persistent spell. You cast it and persists for a long duration doing damage over and over. That's pretty much a textbook definition there. Personally I think SSG should also prevent call lightning storm from snap shotting effects; it should recheck what it procs each time it fires of a lightning bolt based off what you're currently wearing.

To my knowledge, if we talk about 'persistent spells' in DDO, we don't talk about buffs; we talk about clouds, walls, webs, etc.—effects that linger in the environment. You would be right if I were asking for Storm of Vengeance to trigger the mastery feat.

Hopefully they make the MCL on the dragonmark match other spells too.

Just for the record, I actually never used the dragonmark on any of my builds on a live server, just for testing on Lamannia, and with the Master of Storms feat not working on it, I just thought I found something that might unintentionally not be working.

And I doubt that it was an accident that Call Lightning Storm got no MCL in its dragonmark version; for me, it looks like the developer who made it had the intention for it to be different and more powerful than the spell version, but if it isn't intended, it is of course OK to nerf it.

But for me, that dragonmark spell is a good example that the MCL is in general something unnecessary and SSG could remove that from all spells in DDO. If you have effects that raise your caster level on spells, such effects should either do something or SSG should remove such effects. And this dragonmark spell is for me also an example of a spell that scales with character level and not with class level, and this obviously doesn't lead to something overpowered. Any spell your character gets from any source should scale with your character level; otherwise, multiclassing caster levels makes not much sense!

Racial SLAs that scale off character level double-dip levels. They get heroic levels + epic/legendary levels + epic/legendary knowledge; while other regular spells/SlAs only get heroic levels + epic/legendary knowledge. That's why cappping them at MLC20 makes them equal, it removes the extra 16 CLs they get over the spell equivlent.

As I said, if something with this dragonmark is wrong and for that reason the developers decide to nerf it, I can only say: please do it. But my statement was for the MCL in general, and if spells would have no MCL and if they would simply scale with the character level, the issue you describe would not exist, and it would also most likely be easier to code for the developers.

Posted this on release 1, and positing it again as it is still present and could be a big deal when the Strahd event starts:

Could not create a level 1 alchemist in any of the 3 preview builds. Always got a could not create character error after selecting a name and alignment for the character.

Hoping this gets fixed before the event. Apologies if I missed a reply or more posts on this bug.

@Tonquin Since you're dealing with the DR issue, perhaps add crystal to The Hunter's Axe out of Hunt or Be Hunted. It's made of crystal but does not have the bypass natively. I've put in bug reports on this, but since you're dealing with the overall DR issue, might wanna take a look at that.

Please provide focused feedback on each of the following features.
I know this is not the place for me to say this, I am sorry for that, but: with all my sincerety: the positive aspects of DDO made it my favorite game ever, but as a newbie what I dislike the most in this game is being lost (bugs are the second thing I dislike the most). One year since I found out this game exists and ever since the beginning I had a very hard time learning everything. Extremely high learning curve (even though it looked like a simple game the first times I played it). The times I had to delete my characters and create them again is uncountable. I felt surprised by how difficult it was. Many times I simply don't know what to do, don't have a clue, and reading the DDOwiki too much feels like a shore. I like watching Strimtom and AxelDDO's videos better, but even those two can't answer all the questions I constantly am having as I level up (and I ain't watching videos forever). There is an astounding amount of information in this game to read and figure out. And I don't like using my free time to do things that take too much time to do (it's like having a job, but not being paid for it). As a consequence, I've lost a whole lot of time. Yeah, I confess I am not a natural at playing DDO, I've never even played any TTRPG. I take forever to complete quests that I don't know yet, that's one of the main reasons I only want to play in groups/parties. But all groups in this game want to play in the hardest difficulties, which I struggle the most. I believe after years playing this game I'll learn everything there is to learn and find it all easy and relaxing... but so far I don't have any idea when that is going to happen. I just wish this game was more intuitive.

For those that don't enjoy researching, it really helps to find a mentor player, who can answer any questions you have, and give advice. Even though I personally enjoy researching DDO stuff, I know one or two players who've been playing longer than I have, and that have been willing to answer questions I have, and do quests with me; they've also helped me out of a tricky situation once or twice.
Which server are you on, by the way?

After reading through the latest update on the latest update, I either like, or feel neutral towards, most changes. The two biggest things I am upset about and disapprove of are:
the removal of Endless Fusillade/No Holds Barred and how pathetic its replacement is;
the nerfing of how much AC you get from Martial Past Life feats.
Unfortunately, you seem to have already made up your mind about these things. However, I will not go gentle into the night, but rage, rage against the dying of the light.
