Unsinful’s Raid/Reaper Healer - U69

Hey all! I’ve been messing around with Mixed Magics from Wild Mage and found a really awesome way to use it on a healer.

This build has been a ton of fun to play. I have an alt that was just sitting around that only has about 15 past lives and decided to use it as my healer. This is probably the most enjoyment I’ve gotten out of healing in a very long time, so I wanted to share!

The build is: 10 Favored Soul/6 Sacred Fist/4 Wild Mage

The link for it is here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1tMIEDY8ruXkPPqljgKsuxXAwlknB3koBomOS2Wff254/edit
And it is also linked in my forum thread in the player guides forums!

Thanks for reading ?

Hi,

Just came across with the post and it is an interesting idea using the wild mage T4.

I am probably not a big fan with RS as a healer. The energy burst feel slow and I hardly get the right time to use Unyielding Sovereignty.

I would suggest 12fvs/4SF/4WM grabbing the beacon of hope in the core. I think that is a much better ability than positive energy burst. The heal is massive.

12fvs also give a mass cure moderate.

I might also favour +6 con from the defender line but I know the points are really tight.

Positive energy burst is a very fast and efficient heal. It’s amazing for self heal but it’s also great for removing negative levels and stat damage when needed. I have 45 turns and I have run out because of how often I use the burst heal. A free PBAoE heal that accepts all metamagics is fantastic.
The beacon heals are awful. Cone heals are almost never great because as a healer you rarely get to be in cone range of people you’re healing. The only good thing about that core would be 1% crit chance.
As for the mass cure moderate there’s no real need for it, if you had 12 then you could take another heal which would be beneficial. You already have multiple AoEs to use as well as healing wall and consecration.
+6 con from defender would mean losing healing stats from radiant servant and the point of the build is to be a healer, not a tank. I have 4.8k hp and 300 prr as is on a character with less than 10 past lives. I’d much rather do my job better (healing) than have a couple more con.

Howdy! First and foremost, love the build and I have no problem with it.

I tried my hand at a more first-life/newer player focused version of the build designed to be a little more diverse in non-raid content by splashing a pinch of DC casting capability into the build but cutting down it's ability to tumble, some of it's HP, and some of it's durability. Should still be plenty durable outside of high reaper content and still possess more than enough healing. I was wondering what your opinions were on it.

You only have access to 2 Illusion spells possibly. Greater Color Spray and Weird (if tier 5 in Shadowdancer). So I wouldn't do this at all personally. It's very half baked and won't really do anything. It's damage will be pitiful, DC's will be pitiful and the defenses and healing will be extremely lacking if you're trying to fit DC's.
If you want a DC FVS build I have one of those. You never really want to splash this heavy on a DC caster. You're losing numerous spell levels from Favored Soul and gaining nothing back from Sacred First or Wild Mage. The two abilities you are using with a DC would be based on your character level for their DC anyway.
This just seems overall very very bad to be honest.
