What, me worry?
Over 8 pages of robust, engaged, thoughtful feedback from the players. Anyone else both simultaneously excited to see if we get an equally engaged dev partner to respond & worried this will be rushed out the door with the most minor of tweaks?

Kinda feels like Daybreak has SSG on a rigid schedule and Lamannaia is crowd sourced quality review. That is, our feedback may be heard, a few months after the expansion goes live...I'd love to be wrong here as I want to be inspired to rebuild the alt-army...looking for inspiration ;)

  • You automatically Spot almost all traps as you approach them.
  • (Note: This is Spot, not Search.)
From reading reviews the one thing that is very clear is that this description is awful. The variety of assessments based on differing interpretations means that many players really do not know what it does.

What does "almost all" mean? Which traps do not tigger the spot? Would regular spot have given the trap warning for them?

That the extra clarifier "(Note: This is Spot, not Search.)" was needed also indicates that the description is bad.

The word automatic in the phrasing adds confusion as Spotting traps is already automatic. If all it does is essentially give 200 Spot (for traps), why not just say something like that instead?

And does this feat support the WatchfulEye spot requirement?

If bonus only for 3 seconds, suggest increasing the damage reduction to 50%.
If plan to prolong to >5 seconds, then can keep at 20%.

Hey, everyone! In this Preview, we've got several new feats planned for release with Update 69 to go along with the level cap increase. With the exception of one though, these can also be taken anywhere in Epics you have a feat slot they can be taken in! Let's take a look, and please leave any feedback below!

Important Note: These feats are not working properly in the current Lamannia build. We are working toward a new build that will include these feats.

New Epic Feats

These are all Minimum Level 21, and can be taken with normal feat slots that you get at levels 21, 24, 27, 30, and 33.
  • Patience
    • Your attack speed is reduced by 10%, but you gain +1 Critical Multiplier with all weapons.
  • Eerie Aim
    • You gain +5% Dodge Bypass and +5% Deflection Bypass.
  • Paranoid
    • You automatically Spot almost all traps as you approach them.
    • (Note: This is Spot, not Search.)
  • Inspiring Bond
    • When your Hirelings or Pets die, after 2.5 seconds they are automatically resurrected and heal to full health. This can occur only once for each creature every 3 minutes. In addition, your Hirelings, Pets, and Summons gain +25 Physical Resistance Rating and Magical Resistance Rating.
  • Defensive Tumble
    • When you Tumble, for the next 3 seconds you take 20% less damage from all sources (except Bane). In addition, the bonus to Reflex Saving Throws you receive while actively Tumbling is now also applied to Fortitude and Will saving throws while Tumbling.
  • Trick Shot
    • When you Tumble, you gain +40 Ranged Power for 4 seconds.

New Epic Destiny Feats
These are all Minimum Level 21 except for Titan's Blood, which is ML34. These can be taken with Destiny Feat Slots, which you get at 22, 25, 28, 31, and 34.
  • Titan's Blood
    • Minimum Level 34. You gain a +10% Legendary Bonus to Maximum Hit Points.
  • Guarded Actions
    • Whenever you use an Action Boost, you take 20% less damage for 6 seconds.
  • Arcane Actions
    • Whenever you use an Action Boost, you gain a +100 Competence Bonus to Universal Spell Power and +2 to Spell Penetration for 3 seconds.
  • Channel Power
    • After blocking with an Orb or Staff for at least 3 seconds, you gain a +100 Competence Bonus to Unversal Spell Power and +4 to all Spell DCs for 3 seconds.
  • Reverberating Shout
    • Activate to shout at all nearby creatures, Intimidating them unless they make a Will Saving Throw (DC equal to your Intimidate skill). This works on all creature types, including those normally immune to Intimidate.
  • Face Me
    • Whenever you use an Action Boost, your threat generation is increased by 200% for 6 seconds.
Make trick shot available for knives aswel trick slash. Not just the shot, I would think it’s a nice addition for rogue then and would make a knive build in epic combat fun!

Patience needs to be -3/4% attk speed and +1 crit range and crit multiplier else noone will take this.

I don't think you devs understand how insanely valuable attack speed is to overall DPS composition.

With those numbers everyone would take it.

I dont think you posters understand that its not supposed to be a generic DPS feat, only an option that for you can build for if you choose.

You are probably correct that *some* posters see it that way...and you've made a valiant effort to defend the position you've staked. Though some see it as a trap. Others see it as a missed opportunity for something more exciting. Others see it as nerf waiting to happen for some of the builds where it does work. Others see it as meh.

that legendary toughness is gonna about delete my 4pc winter
so that gives my bard some loot alternatives

instead of 10% i was thinking a flat 500. but thats prob too much. more like a 250...

sorry thing is, i dont care to offer advice anymore
i could care more, but years of forum play have made me weary of anything i can offer
so ive resigned myself to not caring so much,
but if i did care, i would try harder than this

Alchemist’s action boost (spell) doesn’t seem to trigger Gaurded Actions.

Think it works with "actual" Action Boosts and not effects or abilities that grant an Action Boost type of effect or with an Action Boost bonus.

Why do I have 522 ddo build files
The discussion on Patience cracks me up a lot. People saying it should be 2-3x as much of a buff, have half (or less) of the penalty etc. Y'all just want a new clear BiS option, not anything close to balanced. Why not a +50 MP feat while we're at it?

I think it'll be great on many builds as is, so if it gets buffed even better!

Every complaint against it is related to basic attacks, more or less - slower animations included. You'll get less of them, one way or another. But a lot of builds are killing stuff with cooldown-based attacks which don't care about your basics.

Adrenaline (and BM). Quick Cutter. Drifting Lotus. Legendary Rally. Even the FS attacks. Unbridled Fury?? These are getting a direct buff, with ~no drawbacks. Who cares if your basics are slower when you are blowing up packs with cleaves?

Proc builds like TWF Rogue, or EK - these will not do well with this feat. R10 endgame with bad DPS might not like it. Raiding, leveling, high Reaper with good DPS? Sweet!

Raids are like the optimal basic-attack scenario. And even there, stacking your burst window more heavily is really good - and getting 5 Adrenaline in a Time Stop but they're like 20% bigger more than makes up for losing even three autos in that period lol.

The People's Champion
Though some see it as a trap.
I see it as a trap, because DDO doesn't have damage meters and I suspect many players will do worse overall damage with it. They'll see the bigger crit number and assume they're doing better damage overall when in reality they may be doing less total damage. The min/maxers will figure out the builds that work and how to maximize it's effectiveness; it'll be a trap to the average player that just assumes it's better regardless.

Thats not a trap, thats just an interesting game mechanic.

There is ample evidence in this thread to point to how confusing this feat is for most folk. Consider the folks on Lamannia are some of the most ardent DDO gamers.

I don't object to an "interesting game mechanic" for experienced players, but if we consider noob-medium experienced players that can nerf their build upon taking a legendary level and then not understand how their relative kill count dropped, well, that's gonna be tough to explain and if you purchased the feat, it'll be a bitter pill to swallow.
