I just ran the saga in Myth Drannor on R10 with a full group.

We did not get more common items than usually and we got zero rare items.

Could be bad luck I suppose or could indicate that whatever you did to drop rates either didnt make it in or isn't noticeable.

That stinks. Loot weekend starts Thursday at least. That will help greatly.

Got my first Golden Age a few days ago (in heroic, working my way thru another TR) - not got one in Legendary, but not ran it as much. Pulled it from the worm or dragon - have ransacked them weekly I think since it came out.

Pulled a golden age today from the cobra just as a fly by heading to the quest there... so hooray - I have two now. Perhaps they will drop like flies.

** edit - 30 minutes later, pulled another golden age (heroic) from the gem quest - so, heroic maybe they upped the **** out of the drop on them

Seen a few fallen (of course never useful ones) but still don't believe that golden age actually exist

Considering how many folks were shouting "Get rid of rare loot or I'll quit the game", I'm surprised people aren't making more noise about this change - seems like a positive move?

I ransacked voices. Yay. I got two golden ages weapons, but no luck on autumn equinox*. From that rather small sample, the drop rate of GAs seems up, since I've only ever looted one before now.

EDIT: To be clear, with the help of one (and on the last three runs, two) guildies. So 19 lootings. I was the lucky (deleted) that got two GAs, noone else got any rare or GAs at all.

*Maybe it only drops only the actual autumn equinox? Hmm.

<insert a you must be new here joke>.

Uhh... the change literally just went live and SSG gave zero details on how much it was adjusted.

Firstly, did the change actually go live? This is SSG we're talking about. They're the embodiment of "trust but verify".

Just because they say something was changed doesn't mean it actually worked. They have a track record of failing the "verify" part on their first attempts.

Secondly, how much was it adjusted? Was it 30%, 10% or 0.1%?

Obviously, 30% would be great, 10% would be nice, 0.1% not so much. An increase of 0.1% would still make their statement technically correct even though that would basically amount to a rounding error in-game.

Since they give no specifics, our options are "Trust me bro" OR wait for someone with a lot of free time to manually datamine the new drop rates. Referring back to the first point, "Trust me bro" sometimes doesn't end well with SSG.

If SSG wants more praise for stuff like this, they need to start being more open and transparent with the players.

Too illustrate the point in my previous post:
https://forums.ddo.com/index.php?th...h-drannor-rare-loot-upgrade.16554/post-207418.

This is the problem with SSG's lack of transparency.

Being vague and secretive creates a void that causes your customers fear, uncertainty and doubt (FUD). FUD stresses people and fosters an environment of distrust. People in a state of FUD tend to mentally fill in the blanks with uninformed guesses and unrealistic expectations.

Then, when those unrealistic expectations fail to be met, they're disappointed. This is a self-reinforcing cycle. After multiple cycles of escalating FUD and unmet expectations, people lose all trust and tend to fill in the blank with worst case scenarios to avoid being further disappointment.

The key to keeping your customers happy is to help them set realistic expectations. Being open and transparent with your customers allows them to set realistic expectations, which minimizes the chances that they will be disappointed. This helps build trust and goodwill.

The chance to reach the rare table was increased from 3% to 5% FYI. So it's still horrible.

Then apply the math for the chances of getting the specific rare item you want off the rare table and it's worse.

I can't wait for them to introduce an "exceptionally" rare table behind the rare table. It'll be rare loot table inception. Then they can introduce a mechanic to let you pay extra shards to reroll your shard reroll...

Rare discovery pots that up the odds for getting on to the rare table...
