A 1 mission boost of XP against a bonus for the rest of your character's life? And you think "most" people will take the XP? really?

Those saga rewards add up and are often saved and used to boost 18-20, the longest two-level stretch of a heroic life.

Considering how lackluster the Gift feats are...Yes, i think most people would rather have the chunk of XP

7. Dark Bargainers may use the shrine to take an additional gift, but they may only upgrade the gift granted by the shrine, not the one they take in character creation in this build.

The way this is worded suggests that in the future you will be able to upgrade your Dark Bargainer "Dark Gift". Is that going to be the case?

Ack! They ARE in the test dojo on a table where you typically found mounts or henchmen contracts or at least they should be. I'll add that to the post.
I might be blind but there are 2 hireling contracts and MD's flying carpet mount. Nothing else. 😅

In this preview players can find the Shrine to the Mists in the Lamordia Landscape. This shrine allows any player the possibility of acquiring a dark gift or for legendary players, to upgrade a dark gift...

The rules of the bargain...
  1. To gain a dark gift you must provide an offering to the shrine. The item called "Offerings to the Dark Powers" appears in the saga reward table for both heroic and legendary.
  2. You can only have one Shrine Dark Gift at a time.
  3. The Shrine's Dark Gifts are considered a temporary feat and do not interact with Fred.
  4. You are free to swap to another gift at any time but it requires another offering. You will lose any upgrade to that feat you may have acquired.
  5. You may reject your gift (removing it) at any time at the shrine. The Dark Powers will not be happy with you.
  6. Once a player is level 30+ they may upgrade their gift with a "Great Offering to the Dark Powers" found in the legendary saga reward table
  7. Dark Bargainers may use the shrine to take an additional gift, but they may only upgrade the gift granted by the shrine, not the one they take in character creation in this build.
  8. TR'ing will remove the gift and a new offering will need to be made to restore it
  9. Note both offering types are available in the legendary saga table so a cap level character can immediately engage with the system without having to do a slum run in heroic.
  10. IMPORTANT - Offerings of both types can be found on a table in the Test Dojo where we typically place henchmen or mount test objects

    Legendary Dark Gift Upgrades
Dark GiftUpgrade description
Living ShadowShadow Weakness becomes Shadow Defense. While it still reduces damage by 15% it also increases dodge by 15%
Mist WalkerThe duration of the mist walker buff now lasts 6 seconds after you use the ability assuming the mists aren't hungry
Minion of The EldritchIf the Dark Powers scorn you it now only lasts for 12 seconds instead of 30.
Touch of DeathYou benefit from death block
Webtouched WretchYou gain immunity to certain web effects. This doesn't include your webs but the duration of those are reduced to 4 seconds from 6.
Echoing SoulsThe duration of your suffering for when your echos begin to shout is reduced from 6 seconds to 3 seconds.
Form of PainPassive, gain an additional 10PRR/MRR

Known issue: the text of the shrine is incorrect and indicates a Dark Bargainer can upgrade the dark gift granted during character creation. That doesn't work in this build. Only the gift granted by the shrine itself can be upgraded.

I notice the Echoing souls debuff was reduced to 3 seconds from 6, but the Webtouched Wretch was only reduced to 4 from 6. Any chance these could be equalized?

Neat, that's handy that you can get dark gifts without having to sacrifice a gift. As I said in the first preview for dark gifts, they simply didn't keep up with normal feats because of the opportunity cost, but now I can imagine several of them being viable in heroics. Since you would get access at level 8 (I assume you can't access the feature earlier, but if you can bank a Offerings to the Dark Powers on another life/character and pass it over to access it immediately that would be neat too) you can wait until you're past the very low levels when some of these drawbacks are prohibitive, and with the upgrades in legendary that seems like a good way to make it feel better.
I do think the upgrade for Touch of Death is a bit underwhelming- deathblock is pretty common, and for example the Pale Master tree's capstone is (supposed to- wiki says it's bugged but wiki could be out of date) a source of deathblock that is correlated with a negative healing source, Dark Apostate is a cleric and therefore can get it, and of course items are a common source of deathblock and by legendary it's very easy to get them. I don't have any particular suggestion here, but my gut instinct is that it feels worse than the others, which cut back penalties in a significant way, make the penalties also have a beneficial mechanic, or buff the primary ability, while this one just feels like it's grabbed becauuse it's vaguely thematic.
I already think Touch of Death is maybe the weakest (in terms of being an interesting ability, not necessarily usefulness if you heal from negative energy since the drawback can basically be moot) of the dark gifts, so giving them something you probably already have in your gear feels pretty mediocre, since it would be a good opportunity to give them some flavor.

Who says you can't just grab one of the saga reward items before you tr and use it after the tr. Could also easily stock up on them beforehand.

You could, but you're still giving up your saga completion XP for the previous life

Looks like Enhanced Mist Walker does nothing. Can't even drag thae ability into the action bars and the normal Mist Walker feat is not affected.
Continue to look at the rest of the feats.

the upgrade is a passive feat so the border should be hexagon, you use the basic active. It looks like the duration is going up but the stats in the tool tip are wrong. Its only suppose to increase the existing buff of 5 reflex and 20% incorp to 6 seconds from 2.
