Veteran Status TR

The question has been asked many times. I think it would be awesome if it was treated like an earned iconic (once earned or bought players can TR into veteran status) - of course it could be a VIP perk too to have at some point access to the level 10 variant(VIP only). This would certainly speed up past life accumulation while giving players even more control on the builds that early game levels may be difficult or tedious with out compromising the base racial tree (for an iconic). Would also say its fair to treat it like Iconics and require a level 30 plateau for the reincarnation ( no new reincarnation feats though-just standard because the instant level jump on the perfect build is the reward here).
Thank you for your consideration. NM

Two hearts actually, one for true reincarnation and one for racial reincarnation.
Both allow you to restart at level 10!

I can see that to work out as a racial reincarnation catch up mechanism. It is the spot that people might not have enough tokens for the heart so buying the heart with ddos won't be out of the scope.

Also the price should not be much different than a heart. So 1495 is the heart. Up to +800k XP. That means ~2k ddos so let's make the package 2595 ddos. I think it is a fair catch up mechanism.
No, thanks.

Remove the 3x requirement then ...

Each TR gets you the full 3x requirement ... lowers total lives from 216 to 72

If you cant get 72 lives in a year or 2 then you dont deserve to be full completionist - it has to be an achievement

For context I have been playing for 20 years (on and off i admit) and i only have 1 full completionist and its not max Reaper Points

But i dont have an issue with others catching up
yes please

Well I have seen many different view points here in response. Some feel that allowing the Veteran Status on a reincarnate is going to empty level 1-3 and or break the balance for new players mixing it up with old players. My feeling is it is no different than Iconics - it would just be another route back to the top- not game breaking or player base dividing (even on a level 4 start I will still hit Korthos because favor and its an easy run level 1 or level 4 no difference to me). Some think it should be reserved for VIP - I think the level 10 should be- but the regular earn-able VET I and VET II I feel should be available to all. Hearts or no hearts? Hearts work in the current system for the reincarnation "from the top back"- but VET is something that needs to be picked when you go back 🤔 so implementation might not require a heart but simply a choice: style/class/race/ fill in choices start on Heart of The Wind "Always" go on to Korthos at level 1(automatically chosen for new accounts when talking to Thealeh Auryath npc)/or VET I/II (if earned, purchased, or VIP). This post is not about making a catch up mechanism so much as allowing a great idea (veteran status) become more usefull to all by allowing it to be used as a choice at level up for reincarneted lives- making it a regular feature for everyone to use and enjoy again and again. I would love to hear from some of the content creators that do first life seriese and free to play seriese - 1000 - 3000 favor to unlock a benifit you can use on new and/or reincarnated characters- on a server for free- for all players- could this be good? Could VET III be a new and desireable perk for VIP levels (6 months-1 year loyalty reward). I think so.

I like the idea of giving VIPs the extra benefit.
This is virtually less than a 5% xp boost, but it's also a QoL to skip some parts of the game they might have run a lot.

I'm not a VIP, and I wouldn't get the benefit, but neither would I ask for it.
I would LOVE to have it, mind you, but I feel like people have been saying VIP benefits have slowly lost their luster, and this is something I could both see them have and could reluctantly live without.

I've always been against this suggestion when it comes up just because it's not a good look for the game IMO to have new player spawn into a dead zone for the first few levels where there are no players. Also, new players need vets to teach them the game and run with them and to just meet people in general and they can't do that if there are no players in the 1-4 range. I'm not against lowering the XP curve for TRs but instead of removing the early levels on a TR I think it's much better to instead lower the 1-20 XP curve for 3rd lifers+ as a whole much more broadly and equally among all levels.

Well summer Korthos is removing the vets. After their first life, I doubt there are players that remain to play winter Korthos.
Also most veterans including me(which I'm not a veteran, neither a VIP) start level 3 using stones from the rolls. Korthos is definitely not the place new players interact with veterans. I would say harbor is. This veteran I option shouldn't change that severely as harbor still has amazing XP quests and players play them regardless of their banked XP.

Now taking in account what you said, I believe that if there was access to a banker before Korthos it would solve that issue.

Now that might be a complicated mechanism but as we are about to learn soon it is definitely doable. Duergar is an example!

Banker in Korthos is an interesting compromise - personally I like that snowy Korthos really is an incubator of sorts for new players, and I enjoy the experience of feeling new again in Snowy Korthos sometimes (probably 50/50) for nostalgia (plus it’s genuinely a great content… pack. Area? Story?)

I usually eat xp stones to get to level 3 or 4 so would be a nice convenience to have vet status 1 and 2 for TRs. vet 3 for VIPs is cool too. I'd like to see an overhaul of the VIP loyalty program to include better stuff like this.

I think vet 1 should be for VIPs
Vet 3 should be with a DDO points cost everytime u use it. It is in practice 40% of an Otto's

I would like to thank everyone that participated in this thread. I would like to see it happen and do not think it would break early game personally. Some agree- some do not-and that is ok. It appears the community as a whole did not read this - or had little interest sadly (only 2 up-votes) but in the end the Development Team will do what they feel is best. Again thank you all for your consideration. NM

If you updated the text to reflect to the discussion I think you would get more upvotes.

I know the result might not have been exactly your idea but it i do feel there is value to Vet 1 being a VIP perk.

And vet 3 maybe a form of a cheeper Otto.
