Viktranium Experiment crafting

I have a legendary gravekeeper's heavy cloak with 2 lamordia slots on it. However, when I try to use the Viktranium Experiment crafting "altar" it tells me the cloak can't be used in these experiments. I've removed all augments and unlocked. So is this crafting bugged or am I special?

Craft augments with ingredients, then slot augments.

Nothing special you see.

the older crafting (like epic crafting) and cannith crafting involves putting items together in the crafting window of the device. The new systems use the little gem symbol on your character sheet to pull up a window with the item--then you slot the augment.
