VIP Loyalty Reward Program NPC Claim Issue

I have spoken to Violet and received my bank spaces.
Everytime I log in (same character, or different) I have the icon that a VIP reward is available. I speak to Violet, again, the icon is removed. But when I log in again later, the icon is back. I speak to Violet, it's removed, and then when I log in....

Will my June rewards be borked?
Who knows. My Icon did get removed permanently after a second interaction. Violet now says its too early to talk to her so it seems that my "counter" got advanced. I don't know what may be different, After talking to Violet a second time I did log out and log into an alt character so perhaps that is relevant. Or not. Who knows.

This system is untested so the best that can be said is that if there is a problem in 1 month maybe someone from support will help? Feel the VIP!

And of course this is all better and a great use of time than just upping a simple vip bonus number.

I love the added “end of month” - when you’ve already paid for the month . You’re not going to un sub mid month and ask for pro rated return. Just another unnecessary jab to paying customers. It’s so weird.

Next time just make “end of month 1” reward say “month 2”. You know , like the free reward system you introduced at almost the exact same time that didn’t have this extra confusion ?

Because confusing your paying customers, good idea.

And as confusing as that is, its not even that clear. It is based on Calendar month:

If I subscribe on say, June 10th, when do I get the first month’s gift?
You will get the 1st Time Signup Bonus Gift immediately, and you would be eligible to get your 1st Completed Months gift after July 1st.

So if you sign up on May 31 and grab your "month 0" bonus immediately you can get your 500 bonus points the next day on June 1. And if you don't grab your immediate bonus until June 1... then no 500 bonus points for you. I would also assume that if you signed up for one month on May 1, when you get to June 1, your month is up and you cannot claim your 500 points. Or if you can claim, you have a very narrow window to do so (unlike that May31st VIP).

Don't sign up on the 1st people. Sign up at the end of the month.

Are ya all feeling VIP!

I believe what Cordovan was saying is they have detected that bug you are talking about and have now fixed it. You just need to talk to her one more time...

Yes, this morning I logged in and spoke with Violet. And now it does appear to have been fixed.

Thanks!

Players who have already spoken to Violet Peregrine, the new VIP Loyalty Reward Program NPC in the Eberron Hall of Heroes, prior to 6pm Eastern (-4 GMT) on Wednesday, May 1st should speak to Violet again. Reward delivery is working as expected, but we've now corrected an issue that failed to properly mark the reward as received, so make sure to speak to Violet prior to June 1st in order to increment your program reward status.
I didn't see this notice, and ran into the issue this month where Violet Peregrine gave me the error stating that "It is too soon to claim your next loyalty reward." Can Customer Service tweak the flag for my account allowing me to claim this month's 500 DDO Points?

I submitted ticket #351520

Edit: Customer Service was finally given access to the tools to resolve this issue on 6 June.

If you're a player who is having issues with this, and submitted a request to Customer Service for assistance, be sure to link them this thread. A friend of mine had this issue with two of his accounts, and CS would not help him because they were not aware of this issue. Once that CS rep saw this forum post, they assisted my friend.

Maybe this is crazy but other game when you have a reward there's a window that pops up when you log in with a 'claim' button on it. There's no NPC to find and no way to confuse the player who has other things going on than to read about every new NPC placed in a fantasy game world. Diablo IV, Fortnite, SWToR, name a game - when you log in, a window is there 'monthly log in rewards' 'claim' button showing your progression through that month's rewards, or the season pass, or whatever the track is that you are on. Blizzard actually shows you the rewards in the launcher, then when your game launches, you are presented with an easy way to claim it. Makes way more sense than adding dozens of npcs all over DDO. I mean as a content creator I can certainly farm content by making instruction videos on how to find these NPCs but it seems very unnecessary with a bit of clever UI creation and much much easier to then track who has claimed what, and much more player centric to make it easy.

?? Huh? How can they possibly tell if you a re a loyal VIP with such a model. Are they supposed to just assume that just because you pay them money for the month and you log in that you are sufficiently loyal?? Ho, ho, that's rich. No, an epic quest of loyalty is required to determine who is really worthy the rich rewards. A journey to the far reaches of ... the hall of heroes to .... (checks notes) ... have a dialog with an NPC is the only way to ...

Ah forget it. Their model is too stupid even for sarcasm. But I am sure they have excellent reasons for doing it this way. (Narrator: in fact, Ahpuch was not at all sure that it made any sense).

well being retired and on a limited income looks like I (for the time being) wont be able to renew my VIP account. I bought all the Iconic class's with points earned but do I lose all 13 slots? I ain't sure, think I go back to is it 4 or 5 slots
