Volcanic coffer…….wishful thinking

I know that SSG owes us nothing, nada, zilch. But when I saw that they had a new coffer for sale, I sincerely felt in my heart that it would be priced relatively cheap to help offset the negative experiences of the last few months. 7995 for the top model. Oh well, wishful thinking. No thanks. To quote Scotty from Star Trek: “There be whales here!”

You misunderstand the point of coffers. They're not to do something nice for players.

They're literally to print money for SSG and likely specifically to give a good bump to their quarterly numbers when needed.

I think the coffers are actually a far better way to monetize the game and milk the whales than the MD/Chill rare loot BS. Some players have been telling SSG for years that they should use cosmetics as a revenue stream and they finally did it.

The coffers are overly expensive IMO, but if there are peeps out there that want to show off their new shinies and it helps SSG in the process...
I'm okay with that!

My inclination to buy things is directly associated with my ability to play their game, so we're kind of at an impasse until they get it from less bad to more good. 😐

Wait the new coffee looks sickkk

I love the sort of like red clay Damascus thing on the axe.

Can anybody share what the price is for the lowest pack that includes the weapon aura, btw? And anybody have any screenshots with the aura on other weapons?

But the prices for coffers are higher than for adventure packs, even higher than for expansions content ! 🤯

I look at the coffers as a great way for SSG to earn money with little effort. The more cosmetic stuff they can earn money on the better as that means less taxing on the actual gameplay.

If there are enough players willing to purchase those - great - it means SSG has the money to keep the game afloat hopefully.

Would I ever purchase one myself? No thanks, but I am very happy others can and will.

Fantastic looking set. Makes the DDO adventurers look suitably Legendary - albeit quite menacing.

Out of my price range - I can't justify ingame cosmetics for that cost - but fabulous nonetheless.

Well I mean, if that stuff keeps the lights on, good for them.
But seriously, if they want to see any money from me, they will have to work on other things.

In my opinion, it does not look good when the game lies in shambles and they push out an expansion and overpriced cosmetics...

Also - there has just been a double points offer

I didnt participate but if you did then effectively the coffer prices are actually cheaper

And yes - no one needs to buy these coffers

I used to buy them to support DDO and for more bank space

I am ok with the bank space i have so its just a matter of when / how to support DDO

Just wish you could get the mount on its own, THAT would get me to fork out some cash. Not everyones cup of tea, but I like it. Shame its only in the top bundle.

I wish they'd take the gameplay features out of them though, I agree I'd rather they milk the paypigs with cosmetics, but offering bank/inventory space with them is bollocks.

HOWEVER the recent free bank upgrade everyone got makes the bank/inv space in these packs feel way less necessary to have so I will let them off on that now. I was really annoyed at it on the old patron coffers but I don't care as much now, now it's just a nice thing to have and doesn't feel like it's basicaly necessary to have due to an increasing amount of new loot in the game.

I'm still not going to buy one though, and I still think they're for rubes.

i view it the same way. this is now the 6th coffer, meaning theres 180 shared bank slots that could've been sold like the other ones via the ddo ingame store for a reasonable price. and i would have bought them all in a heartbeat just like i did with all the prior ones.

but now, since they are bundled with cosmetics that i dont care about (dont get me wrong, the artists have done a great job on many of those items), and are also released in a fomo kind of way, i refuse to support those... well, supporter packs.

and we all saw that one infamous presentation on how to monetize games, so i get why these coffers are made this way.
