Big deal? A dwarf? A smallish Medium size deal, maybe....

But really. We're going to get more elves, we all know it. With dex. After that some more elves with more dex.

In the year 2525, if DDO is still alive, if Eberron can survive, we may find....

even more elves and dex races.
Normally they say Dwarfs came out of holes in the earth but sometimes it looks like they find only elves there :) Maybe they should not try to grap the ears more for beards :)

Gully Dwarfs for the win! Open up a pub called the "burb and gulp." Make them have a -6 to int and cha. Give +8 con. Make them the smallest race by far, like kobold size! Put in visuals that look like they have a cloud of stink around them and give lots of options to make them look disgusting and filthy. Bits of bones/trash in the hair, filthy etc. Give them a trip attack... where they fall over and trip everything in an AOE around them. Add a belch that spews forth in a cone of rancid booze that acts like acid and decreases PRR and does CC and DOT (while those affected stop to try to clean themselves off.) Give them a fart cloud that acts as a large aoe cloud and taunts monsters. Give them a negative to all damage types done but extra PRR and MRR. Make them have random clumsy stuff like wild magic negatives. I am totally serious! We need Gully Dwarfs!

Gully dwarves being essentially half-dwarves it would open a whole can of *stone cold quote* considering the direction wizards is heading. Just be glad they are not trying to take away half-elves and half-orc from us! They took wildmen away

Hill Dwarf:
  • Ability Score Increase:
    +2 Constitution, +1 Wisdom
  • Dwarven Toughness:
    Increases hit point maximum by 1, and by 1 again every time you gain a level.
  • Darkvision:
    Can see in dim light within 60 feet as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light.
  • Dwarven Resilience:
    Resistance to poison damage and advantage on saving throws against being poisoned.
  • Stonecunning:
    As a bonus action, gain tremorsense with a range of 60 feet for 10 minutes if touching stone.
Mountain Dwarf:
  • Ability Score Increase: +2 Constitution, +2 Strength.
  • Dwarven Armor Training: Proficient with light and medium armor.
  • Darkvision: (As Hill Dwarf).
  • Dwarven Resilience: (As Hill Dwarf).
  • Stonecunning: (As Hill Dwarf).
Duergar (Gray Dwarf):
  • Ability Score Increase: +2 Constitution, +1 Strength.
  • Superior Darkvision: 120-foot range.
  • Duergar Resilience: Advantage on saving throws against being charmed, frightened, paralyzed, or poisoned.
  • Sunlight Sensitivity: Disadvantage on attack rolls and Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight when in direct sunlight.
  • Duergar Magic: Can cast enlarge/reduce (self only) once per long rest, and at 3rd level, can cast invisibility (self only) once per long rest.

I'd say hill or mountain, depending on those stats for enlarge...

Duergar!!!! Underdark Dwarves

1. They already have the graphics in game.
2. Duergar's Enlarge ability is in game with Undying Vanguard from Unyielding Sentinel. Make the ability like a barbarian or Shifter rage but with the larger frame.
3. In the racial enhancement tree add ways to enhance the Enlarge ability: Duration, Str, Con. Also this would be a great place to work some more under used weapons such as the maul and the heavy pick. Maybe top tier gives maul +2 Crit range and +1 Crit range to heavy picks.
4. Racial TRs could provide a +1 STR race.
5. We have 3 types of Elves and 2 types of cat races. We need some dwarven balance!

Here's my napkin plan for duergar:

Cores Con/Wis and PRR

Pick/Daxe hit/dmg, T4 gives sacred +1 range pick and centered+favored daxe

Enlargement SLA, Rams Might with the cosmetic effect. T2 with a T3 booster that doubles the effect

+3 cl/mcl to acid and earth spells

Racial imbue: your attacks and spells deal 1d6 acid damage every 2 secs for 8 secs, scaling higher of mp or sp, max stacks = imbue dice

Blah blah spell res armor bonuses skills strikethrough hp

I've wanted Duergar since the beginning. Instead we got a million elves. Fortunately, I also like elves, but yeah we need more dwarves.

While playing Chaosmancer, I sometimes grew large. This was really cool. I wanted Duergar more than ever. Enlarge and Invisibility would be fun leveling. Enlarge would remain fun at cap.

If you're gonna trade 2 dam for con then make it a version of Animal Growth and get +4 str +4 con -2 dex, doubled in T3, and then tripled with FotW. Bonus points if it doubles and triples the cosmetic effect too lol

Just be careful not to dump dex down to 6 or you might make yourself perma helpless lol

But i think most people would rather have it work with fotw than be a new spell that didn't count for that, hence why i said rams

BUT, because it's a racial spell, once you hit L34 it will fall off the table and have zero duration like Shifter Magic Fang.

It's been broken since L34 was added. They know about it. It's utterly trivial to fix. They've done nothing.

but if we go that route it would stack with rams!
