Make it bothI too would appreciate a discount on some convenience items. Or a big point sale?
I wouldn't be surprised if they only had one or two people capable of working on it and they were already tied up making this first server. Plus they've indicated that they were surprised the new server tech worked as well as it did and if I had to keep guessing they likely weren't preparing to start right away because as Tolero stated they were expecting to have to take months rather than just weeks. That is not at all good news. I really hoped you had several good people working all out of making the actual 64 bit servers happen, not just the first test.
Ouch. This is not work that is currently underway in a formal development way, just an announced intention about future work. We need to get this first server out first.
it should appear when it's open after maintenance this morningSo, how does one access this Cormyr server? I don't see it on my 64-bit "Available worlds" launcher and I don't see it anymore on my preview launcher.
Thanks!
it should be. This & the 64 bit servers it's needed for are already a ~decade overdueThis is not work that is currently underway in a formal development way, just an announced intention about future work. We need to get this first server out first.
An event is not a pack though. The Q3 pack is late and may never arrive I guess due to _issues_. Hopefully a Dev or Cordovan will let us know which is it. But an event cannot be called a pack.My only question is: If we assume that the Q3 Adventure Pack listed on the 2024 Roadmap is this Lantern Event. What is the Q4 Adventure Pack and when will we see it?

Do xp pots effect the amount of durability given on lanterns?
An Event can be a Pack. That was what the Illithid Invasion was. Both an Event and A Pack. Also, early this year Tolero said on a friday at four that they had something similar planned for one of the packs this year. And we have heard from another friday at 4 that said event transformed into the Lantern Event. An event is not a pack though. The Q3 pack is late and may never arrive I guess due to _issues_. You can loosely call this "float". It all comes down to what happens when the server is opened and the issues that develop. You don't make detailed plans on every "what if" before it happens. Once the environment is stable then they can work on "what needs to change for transfers", that way they aren't going back and forth with numerous fixes.Ouch.
So the "years" I randomly put out there seems more and more likely. Nasty. Meaning we'll have to live with nasty lag for that time and a further split player base.
Yeah, ouch.
While I also wish for more quests and thus more Adventure Packs as we have had in the past. It is not unusual for the plan put forth in the Roadmap to change as we progress throughout the year.Hmm, not that it is an official source but according the wiki an Adventure Pack is a "collection of quests ..." which fits perfectly with my understanding. So, in my book something can only be an Adventure Pack if it has new quests.
The invasion had new quests so thats good - so that begs the question if the tiny pre-quest in the Lantern event qualifies it to be called an Adventure Pack or notI suppose one could technically make such a claim but I would certainly feel cheated if "Adventure Packs" only had one tiny quest. If I somehow overlooked that the Lantern Event also has 4 full quests I obviously stand corrected.
The LotRO servers by design are no transfers. They are called Legacy servers and are meant for people to relive the leveling process from the start.I'm not sure there will ever be transfers. We shall see in the coming years. I think they may discover it's a bridge to far. My understanding is that they have said no transfers over on LOTR. Can anyone confirm or debunk that understanding? Thanks.
I understand why and accept it. But I want them to admit not delevering the Adventure Pack as per the plan. Otherwise its too easy not to deliver next time either. While I also wish for more quests and thus more Adventure Packs as we have had in the past. No where on the Roadmap did we have 64-bit server setup and testing. Yet here we are, anxiously looking forward to any information about when the next set of Servers will be ready.
Suffice to say, take everything with a grain of salt and hope for the best. We'll all be better off in the long run.
Further splitting the playerbase for too long, while long time players are stuck on old servers, is not a Good Thing (TM). So while I understand it needs to happen in steps, the end goal should be coming as soon as humanly possible. Please. So, on the timing of future servers and character transfers, it's only been a few weeks really and the first step has always ever been, "Get the first server launched first."
