Approximately 500 folks on Cormyr...levels 1, 4, 7, 15 (appropriate for the entry level options available), so no real fancy effects on any character. Not sure why it is so laggy if there was any truth to the idea that this is the fault of super optimized characters with huge assortments of fancy effects.

I wasn't even able to finish making my level 7 character. The lag on the ship is the worst I've ever seen. Good job, SSG. Proving once again that there is nothing you CAN'T eff up.

no past lives, no bloated bank accounts, no evil artificers and inquisitives shooting too many bolts to cause lag. I can't wait to hear what the excuse for THIS is.

It's getting pathetic. As bad as things have been getting I foolishly hoped Cormyr might be a glimmer of hope. Man, I can be stupid sometimes. How ironic that the shiny new 64 bit server is experiencing the biggest lag storm I've ever been in, without the presence of past lives, epic destinies, huge bank accounts bloated with hoarded items, and those nasty repeating xbows! Is it just the numbers? If the new 64 bit servers can't handle 300 (ish) brand spanking new characters with zero baggage, what fugg1ng good are they?

Lag? I thought the artificer nerf was fixing this?
Maybe EVERYONE was creating artificers, so now they have to nerf them even harder! No more repeating crossbows, period. Or dual wield xbows for that matter. Just good old Pew.........................................................................................Pew............................................................................. Not going to lie, it would be a treat on my ears.

Speaking of which, since artificers are the master tinkerers, why aren't they able to make silencers for their xbows and rune arms? I'd go on huge quests to gather materials for silencers for repeaters and rune arms. I'm surprised more artificer players don't end up in clock towers.

Time for another round of "pin the tail on the lag inducing donkey" - maybe they'll decide to nerf Warlock chain stance next, or Archmage SLAs (surely all those Magic Missiles flying around don't help). How about Dragon Lords using Whirlwind Attack?

Or maybe, you know, actually think about what has changed since the last time lag was (barely) acceptable - doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that a class released 13+ years ago is not the main cause of your lag problem. Cordovan has already said that they KNOW Night Revels is not helping the situation - doesn't help the 64 bit slideshow generator, but would be a good place to start on the live servers.

I will say that all the lag stutters that happen, have all the hallmarks of an SQL lock / wait. I don't know what relational database they use for DDO, but I'm sure that its schema, when designed in the mid 2000's, was not built with virtualization in mind. Virtualizing database servers has always been an iffy idea at best, and not something I would ever recommend to a customer with a high transaction count DB.

Come on people lets be easy now.. Remember what was said in a post from.. I wont say who.... basically saying from the test day they had on Cormyr " We gathered a bunch of data " ..

I am wondering how awesome this data collection was that will help enhance and optimize servers?

Continual carrot in front of the horse, not me though.

Enjoying Diablo 4.. Path of Exile 2 coming out in a few weeks.
