What are the loot drop %'s for the new content coming out?

Firstly thankyou for responding. It's at least helpful to know that the pots aren't an indicator here.

I can only relay my behaviour here - I spent over 5,000 shards on MD rerolling, to get the loot I wanted. But I certainly won't be doing anything like that again, as even on getting what I wanted I was suffering buyer's remorse rather than any joy. Fool me once...

I mention this as it may help to understand that just because there was significant rerolling on MD, that shouldn't, certainly in my case, warrant any expectation of repeat.

And it has also hampered my usual enthusiasm to pre purchase this time round and is impacting my buying decision - from not buying the expansion at all right through to the full Ultimate version. All is on the table. Normally I'd have bought by now.

MD loot has engendered a step change in attitude for me in terms of my purchasing behaviour, and regrettably potentially to the detriment of SSG.

I know I'm only one person, and YMMV, but I feel in context it's worth sharing my subjective experience. I hope it helps.
Thing is...

You're not the only person.

The only people that defend it are the people that don't play it.

I think you may have probably missed one of my prior posts on this, because I feel like I've said this out loud, but yeah, this is something I agree with. I re-joined the team last year, it's been great to be back, but a lot of work has had to be done. One of those specific areas has been in store improvement and pricing. The project here has started with something very basic, but very long and very important: store inventory.

You know how stores close down to check all of their items from time to time? I've basically been doing that for both games and, trust me, there are a lot of items. Because this counts not only the current items, but also the historical items too that you don't see. Everything is getting categorized and logged so it's known, easily accessible, and, most importantly, editable as a group. So it's a... honestly intimidating number. But it's almost done (yay) and after that I want to move on to pricing and item structure. That will be a faster process because everything will be known and streamlined by that point.

For the store as a program and interface, that's something that may take a bit longer. The team that will be responsible for making improvements going forward is inheriting the program from another group, so there's learning going on. Once folks feel comfortable making changes, yeah, we'll probably be asking for some larger adjustments. Right now the changes that have occurred are pretty small and mostly unnoticeable by anyone. Things like editing how search works, for example, to slowly improve it.

And to clarify what I mean by "day-to-day" I mean specifically the smaller, rapidly changing conversations that folks have that happen all the time. When a team or a dev decides on something, then yeah, it's something we all know and there are shared meetings where it's talked about as a group. It's more that I don't want to speak to something outside of my area of expertise and then misspeak to it or misrepresent it.
I been editing the DDO store section of the DDOwiki for over a decade. Ive come across items that:
  • Have class or level restriction which are not mention the in descriptions if you even knew the item existed.
  • Descriptions that fail to mention it doesn't last thru reincarnation or work properly on some race like hair dye.
  • Item with incorrect store icons
  • Duplicate item listings.
  • Listing that once existed no longer are listed like Guild ship Interior stain, just poof gone with no mention why.
  • Pets that were only Daily Dice or old Motu bundle now part of the store.
  • Hidden mounts that never been release. Loto store has 100s of mounts DDO mounts from a starter area plus one special one or part of a expensive bundle.
  • Items which should have been de-listed after an event is retired or is out of date like armor.

I will use them for new raids when they're released, which has the added benefit of players buying bypass timers as well. However, whether or not I'd buy one from the store depends on the price.

Well let me provide one qualitative data set for you. Have players rolled more since the abysmal drop rates on rare loot in MD? Probably. Have players become bitter about the entire experience? Without a doubt.

We all understand SSG has to make money. But there are ways that feel better to the customer than an RNG slot machine. SSG seriously needs to revisit the rare loot tables, and find more valuable ways for players to spend their money.

The store doesn't operate based upon usefulness or useability. I bet it's based on popularity and sales stats. So, if an unsuspecting newb buys a +1 shortsword thinking it's "powerful", it will not be removed from the store based on it's efficacy as a newb bear-trap.

Such is the case for any system where only new items are added, nothing is removed, and nothing is updated or repriced.

We'll know pretty quick after people start running the quests. I don't think they'll release that beforehand, they're pretty hush hush about drop rates.

Personally, I'm waiting.
I think their being hush hush is why everyone is frustrated with the expansion packs
