What does "Be R10 capable" even mean?

I see, so "be R10" ready etc, doesn't necessarily mean an elitist group, just someone that prefers quick, efficient runs.

Totally ok but I rather not join because I'm at the very low end of "R10 ready" and don't know all quests well (really poor memory and zero sense of orientation) and don't wanna annoy the party if I make the party lose some time for whatever reason or die too often.
Even though your last post was how you accept anyone and will lead and take anyone ?

AND you do the things you don’t want your party members to do?

You’re all over the map.

Doesn't "R10 ready" usually means more than that?

Like Ying's post, it usually means having the stats and skill to deal good damage (or tank/heal/cc well depending on your role - esp. CC has high stat requirements) and not die too often.
It can mean more than that but it definitely encompasses the parts you said. You’re more in alignment than you think.

IDK about your server's etiquette but usually party leader only means they started the party and are in charge of accepting people (nor not) and choosing quests and difficulty.

But someone else can "lead" (go first and lead party to objectives) if they have memorized the quest better. People with good memory will tend to do that automatically if they see you going slow or alt-tabbing to wiki.

Last night I joined a LFM and that was running R4 then a Tank joined and we bumped it up to R8. Things were dying a little slow mostly caster in the group so bumped it back down to R7. Ran that until the Tank left then bumped it back to R4. This is how I think LFM group should be managed. Greater group leader thanks for the fun runs.

I was also on a level 25 running level 34 quest and not contributing much, heals here and there and trying not to die. The group was very welcoming.

Maybe run with people who ask you to be R10 ready more often to up yo game.

Yeah it's amazing how much smoother a tank can make mid and high reapers go.

I had one join that by their hp probably didn't even have "uber gear" but they were so tanky and high aggro they made our party go from "struggle-bus" R10 to "errmmmm is this really R10 or R1 with a bit more mob health"

You’d be a decline for my R10 group. Even if you’re not R10 ready, at least be geared and at level.

That’s cool that you want to run that way. I also mostly run that way (something like r4+) in posting.

But if people want to try to get an r10 group together, and want others that can run r10 in a group , what’s the problem.

The posts above were criticizing them for not being able to run it themselves and now the two of you are just coming in here like “r4 is fine”.

Ok … that wasn’t the point.

Keep an eye out for "Pugs welcome" this means there are several players in the group can complete r10s and welcome the brave of heart in the group. Pug = player under grade. Pugs will die too much but in turn they get rewarded from their suffering with a lot of reaper experience. Players that pursue this path I would recommend using The https://ddowiki.com/ and https://github.com/Maetrim/DDOBuilderV2 to get a better perspective of powerful building. This is no easy task and requires attention to detail, getting involved with the community on the forums, in game for answers for what stacks and does not stack. Be aware DDO has an exception for almost everything and it takes community to discover power builds that are effectively R10 ready after months of farming raids and quests.

Wait, pug for me = pick up group - and I always assumed that meant like... "people not within our circle" - not player under grade - never heard of that player under grade

Lately a few of these non-inclusive LFMs start showing up with requirements like "minimum xx reaper points", that's self-explanatory. But what is even"be R10 capable"?

For me it depends highly on group makeup. If we don't have someone else taking aggro (esp. red names and doom reapers) I'd be dead too often but otherwise I can usually contribute ok in R10s. So overall, probably not what they mean by "R10 capable" 🤔

I think it sounds demanding, so not very enticing to join. Even if I was stronger, because I prefer a laid-back group instead of one where everyone's performance is scrutinised. I think it may also have to do with xp pots ticking.

I feel similar for raids that exclude people, like "no casters" because "dps only".
It means an elitist has posted an lfm that you should avoid. 😀

Yup definitely zero difference in players that are souls stones all quest and those that are never soul stones.

Good point, well made.
I did a 3BC prove your worth with someone who had just came back to the game (I myself had also just came back after a 15 yr hiatus). I had featherfall and they didnt, they died on the ladder climb part. I carried them past the conundrum and into the fire room where they could rezz. They felt bad the entire time about them dying stupidly, but I assured them I had no issues and it actually made me feel good that I saved the run. I wasnt annoyed or anything at all, even told them to go afk and make a sammich or something, not to sweat it. It's all about the vibe in this game and if you are projecting "be good at this game or else", what kind of vibe or energy are you putting out there? I guess you get what you give in some instances and I'd never want to make someone feel like crap because I thought they were sub-par or something, if anything I wanna lift people up not kick their face in the dirt. Having this attitude where "if someone doesnt meet my standards and are dead all the time then they suck" is kind of a weird take, but humans gonna human I guess. If you aren't playing the game to have fun, then why are you playing? And if having fun means that you like waving your member around showing everyone how good and awesome you are, then that's another issue entirely.

Look, all im saying before I get off my high horse is, play to have fun - no point in projecting any kind of elitism or anything because if someone is a soulstone and you can solo the entire instance because you were that good, nothing is stopping you from soloing it - because if no one had joined, you would have just soloed it any way. At the very least help people, dont kick em down.

Sounds like the beginning of a bad post trying to recruit you a job or something. "Must be R10 capable. We are an ambitious and rapidly growing startup guild looking for people...yada yada."
Aye, 2006-2010 LFMs were: "Be self-sufficient"
in 2020-??? LFMs are: "Be R10 capable"

things never change, only goalposts get moved.

This is facts. You don't get better if you don't try. The biggest challenge in this game is knowing where to be. When to put on spell Absorption knowing the quest.
The irony of be r10 ready lfms is the poster of thesee lfms is often the weakest in group.
But like others siad don't like lfm choices you see post your own.
Was also the advice of guilds. look for a guild that fits your playstyle. There so many good guilds to choose from on all worlds now.

If you think "Be r10 capable" in an r10 quest lfm is non-inclusive, dont ever post a raid lfm and say "be flagged" because that could also be described as non-inclusive.

Or, let people who cant handle r10 into your r10 groups and enjoy the wipefest

If a leader takes a moment to specify R10 capable, that's because he only wants toons AND players able to handle that difficulty. You can be squishy and useful. You can be under the top of the gear and manage agro/traps/shortcuts.
Being with a range that catches agro like in R1 to die few meters away is what he wants to avoid. Being with an instakiller that kills nothing is what he wants to avoid. Being with a tank that is not tanking R10 mobs is what he wants to avoid. Etc...
Not only all toons are not set-up for R10, but some players through their gameplay are not either.
He could have written "Know what it is and please play accordingly". And there is nothing wrong with it.

Exactly. "Be r10 capable" is just shorthand for precisely that.

Seriously, calling this non-inclusive is an absolute joke. Thread should be closed

honestly since we have 3 servers - let people be people. if you dont like what a lfm says dont join.

people can set lfms for whatever reason they pick.

if i put up a lfm that says shaved dwarves with sos only and you hit it you better be a shaved dwarf that used said sos to remove beard

r10 capable ? thats far more a player comment than about gear.

I joined an r10 group other day and the leader must a been an alt, a 900 hit point FS.

That player was good.. very few deaths... Of course, he had a 5k HP fighter that was tanking and taking aggro .

Very fun group that worked together and didnt zerg into trouble.

every player and group is a little different- be honest and find one that works well with your style
