What has happened to treasure hunter weekends?

Kind of confused as to why the highly desired "treasure hunter bonus" weekends, also referred to as loot boost have completely vanished. There hasn't been one yet this year... I don't know about other people but this is usually when I spend $$$ in the ddo store to get astral shards for rerolls. Please bring it back soon 😿

I agree that it needs be be brought back in some form. I have gained 100 fragments total in years of playing many many lives. Ok not r10. The problem imo is that peeps have been on here bragging about there 100 frags in a weekend. So which one do you think DDO wants to have happen more.

Basically, TBD. Community speculation is to 'fix' mythic/reaper bonus rates during the boost.

Why introduce rare loot if you're going to make it easier to get for free.

It's not in SSG's interest to do them when you need 3 years of VIP and an ongoing subscription for a 3% bonus.

Hopefully they're waiting for after the new Raid drops to do it. Would certainly encourage people to run it (and thusly buy the expansion pack if they haven't already).

ETA: Provided they un-f**k the pretty awful loot

Yea raid drops are definitely going in the wrong direction. Relentless was very very lazily done but could make use of the items, and now the items from this raid are definitely the worst ever. Ton items were a masterpiece

I really hope this isn't the case. Along with many others, I too rerolled during these weekends for frags, which ofc I don't do normally. So I don't see why it would be in their interests to 'fix' this.

They are going to give you treasure hunter AFTER they fix dandook's monster manual AND add lamordia entries to it.

Too many ppl got the rare items they needed the last time which saw a drop on astral shards purchase the new few weeks so no more treasure hunter weekends for us. ( that's my guess )

Treasure hunter boosts your chances of getting reaper bonuses on your items. Well that is the part we're after anyway. It does nothing to increase the drop rate of named items. It increases the rate of shards being used because people use these weekends to get more reaper items.

It seems like the Treasure Hunter weekend bonus is kind of a PR tool, to throw a bone to the mobs when pitchforks come out. They did it a couple times when lag was a major problem.

Recently, lag has not been an issue, seems to be a renewed focus on bug fixes with Tonquin's return, and the latest Expansion has been pretty well received.

This is partially true (according to me). The loot weekend bonus definitely has some kind of correlation to getting onto the rare loot table. Having run every loot weekend since myth drannor to exhaustion, the sheer amount of times getting onto the rare table vs a usual ransack is night and day. So while the volume of items doesnt really change from loot weekend vs regular; the volume of rare items does. Someone can feel free to voice their opinion, but the people I run with all agree that rare loot is def boosted on a loot weekend.
