Some please help me to explain the Wild Magic Surge. Is it wild magic that dwells in the caster affecting everything they cast using sp? Is it an aura that affects everything that originates from the character that is magic in nature? DDO doesn't seem to know what it is. Why do I say that? Well let me explain.
1) Test Number one Wild Magic and Warlock Aura. Works when an enemy is hit by the aura not by itself.
2) Test Number one Wild Magic and Warlock blast. Works same as spells.
2) Test Number two Wild Magic and clickies. Works as if casting spells normally (Works on clickies)
3) Test Number four Wild Magic and Rune Arm. Does not work. (Considered an object that cast spells similar to wands or clickies)
The above tests are all trigger the wild magic without the expenditure of SP from the caster. In the case of warlocks these usually mean they are spells that are powered by their deity. Meaning they don't originate from magic inside the caster. The clickies are obvious as they expend from the enchanted object the caster is holding. So far we have established it more of an aura affecting everything originating from the character that is considered magic in nature. Now we get to the Rune Arm. Why does this not work the same. It is an imbued item that cast spells that originates from the caster? It is no different than a clickie that has infinite charges. Balance perhaps. Nope. In that case Warlock's infinite eldritch blast or aura would also not affect it. So it's either a bug or it's ddo lack of knowledge on how the wild magic surge works. Could be I'm missing something important.
