That's a level of cognitive dissonance I don't think you were prepared to demonstrate and yet here we are, living in a world where you said basically "I'm not evil, I'm just evil"

Goliath or sea elf. But since they're doing standard race from forgotten realms, they could do an actual shadar kai that's not iconic, with human bonus feat but with elf traits like it should be.

I am not trying to stir up trouble here or put words in anyone's mouth but I think the discussion demands a reminder that you can have "our side and the other side" without it being a race thing

I think some tropes from the Old Guard of DnD should survive and I am definitely not suggesting we hug it out at the top of every dungeon run but I do think some things should be left behind, too

Besides, if every drow had to be evil aligned from birth we wouldn't get drizzt. Getting to be the exceptional member who chooses good despite being raised into a particularly cruel or evil society is heroic and cool.

When it comes to Kender, I get it

But blame the writer, not the race, I think

In Star Wars, Gungans have a dazzling underwater city and active hard light technology and a sacred site deep in the forest built on the bones of even older gods, but we only really get to see Jar Jar Binks and Boss Nass

But gamer I want to imagine what else is out there and we have the power to tell that story lmfao

Knowing the DDO Dev's, I wouldn't be surprised if we got the Japanese interpretation of Kobolds, which would admittedly be kinda funny.
