It is clearly true though. No progression system is shared among alts except BTA loot. That you can create alts does not mean it is supported in any meaningful way.
***? you should run for office. Don't forget to support (and Pledge Loyalty to) the dumpster fire. that second line was illogical genius. the third just confirmed it. gratz in bs sounding like reality

How, exactly are "alts" supposed to be "supported in a meaningful way?"

Games with alt-support usually support account progression via alts. The flip side is that alt-favored games also don't support deep progress on a main.

The second isn't possible on DDO, since it's already baked into the game, but DDO could easily add something like racial and heroic class progress as an account-wide feature; ie. play CharA to 20 as an Elf and get the Elf racial. Play CharB as an Eladrin and also get the Elf racial for every character on your entire account.

Oh, wait. Too many elfs. Play CharB as one of the rare non-elf races (eg. dwarf), and get the dwarf racial on every character account-wide.

IMHO, some kind of catchup will need to be put in game for racials if DDO wants to keep new players. Account progress via alts is one way to do that and also promote alt-play.

Shared progression and/or accelerated progression up to matching the main. This is pretty much standard practice in online games these days.

I thought you were something. Clearly I was wrong. Again. This is based on DnD. Not everything needs no progress/change. Some things are good as they are.

I'm not. They really exist. I wouldn't go so far as to say most MMOs have it, but it's more common than not for the games that don't have excessive main progress like DDO and FFXIV.

SWTOR truly has account progress based on alts. I went back a few years ago and found I had created 90'ish alts! My eyes bugged out. Took me about 3 days just to figure out what I had been doing with so many and prune them down to ~30 alts.

Sometimes it's less overt; eg. ESO let's you collect gear in an account-wide "sticker book". All chars can contribute and once you've collected a full set, you can create as many copies of the items from that set as you want on any character. It would be like collecting a 3pc RL set once and then being able to snag infinite copies once you had all 3.

The reason I'd call that alt-support is because that feature doesn't much matter if you only have one character -- can just keep it all in bank and use it directly, no need for copies.

Where in DnD do you have 10000 hours of character progression on a single character?

For the size of the community and the overwhelming negative responses on over 100 responses, that's pretty big.
This. Over 100 responses is practically the entire forum these days.

Talking about playing another toon to get over 100 lives or farming even more after saying your leaving the.game sends the message that they can do whatever and your still here playing.

None of the loot drop threads have been productive. In fact they took all that in and said we need to make the 2 big rares in slayers, even more rare.

If you are playing MD, that means you bought the pack. No use crying over spilt milk. Just keep it in mind they time they try to sell you something.
L O L. Yes I al the reason the loot drops suck. Unbelievable. Stockholm Syndrome is very strong for you. If mental gymnastics were an event at the special olympics, you’d win a gold medal.

I don't personally lose any sleep over any unfilled augment slots, nor do I feel compelled to spam any quests some dozens of times to try and fill those gaps.

Also, sun and moon augments will drop in future content as well.
Makes sense that the only people that think the drop rates are fine don’t actually understand the problem.

There's a difference between understanding something and caring about it personally. Can you understand that ?

And where exactly did I say drop rates are "fine" ? Yeah that's right, nowhere.

That's what I did, but TBH, heroics aren't nearly as nice as Epic PLs. Iconics for 1 EPL 1 IPL 1 HPL. Get some RXP on that first trip while banking sagas, recycle to 25~26, cap, and ITR.

I have 5 characters, which really feels like 1 too many: ranged, melee, tank, caster, and whatever. Sure, I'd like full racials for the expanded build options, but you get so much more so much faster out of doing EPLs that unless you're a living TR hamster that loves the wheel, skip heroics as much as possible.

I get what you're saying about power levels.

I'm just thinking now that lower power levels are preferable because they raise the challenge in many of the things we do as we play the game.
