What's the next class you feel should get an archetype?

if thats true then sorcerer is an archetype for wizard
You'd think so, but the actual game makers made them separate based on the source of magic and bla, bla, bla. Favored soul I want to say, becomes available at like cleric level 5 or 7 or something. If I recall correctly. I had only been playing the actual game for like a year before this blasted brain tumor popped up so I only know the bits and pieces I'd learned up till about 3 months ago.

Divine spells still have the same schools, and as an archetype it would avoid the split casting stat.

I really don't see how gearing would be worse, but I do notice that divines barely have any Enchantment spells, and a lot more evocation and conjuration. What really undercuts the idea of Mystic Theurge as an archetype in DDO is that there aren't enough differences in the spellbook, and even fewer are viable, so you end up just adding a few more spells that do the same thing and go even deeper on specialization.
-Evocation gets Celestial Bombardment, Divine Wrath, Implosion, and Firestorm added to it's top-end spell rotation, and if you're already running meteor swarm there's not any more regearing than using the same swap item for Divine wrath as you do for Sunburst.
-Necromancy comes out even further ahead, since you have heighten. Add Slay Living, Destruction, and the Inflict- spells. Unfortunately, that probably means MT would have to replace the PM tree to avoid just being a better PM, even though thematically it should be giving up Eldritch Knight
-Conjuration is the next largest group of divine spells, but only because healing is typed as Conjuration. The only other gain here is Cometfall, which would be nice to have, but unless you're already pushing conjuration saves for some other reason, gaining healing isn't doing much for Wizard.

The real problem is that even if casters get fixed, the thing that really matters in DDO is what SLAs they would get. DDO just isn't the game that rewards versatility over specialization and how much power you can layer on a single action.
you could bet money that they lose pm, the irony being that they finally get the harm spell but cant use it to self heal (unless dhampir)

The idea would be to have int-based divine spells as arcane spells on the Wizard list. So it would take no more stretching to meet the DC requirements than investing in evocation, necromancy, and enchantment, which you usually want on a Wizard anyway.

Personally I think having all the divine CC and IKs, plus the ability to heal a raid, on top of the arcane spell list would be quite powerful and fun.
If there was an actual universal, universal caster tree, and a better gear set for universal casting, they'd work fine being multi classed together. I'm probably wrong on this one, but maybe dark apostate with pale master, or wild mage. But only if there were an actual universal, universal caster tree. to allow casters to better multi class

Second Favored Soul. Though please don't put 'dark' in front of the name and make them evil.
They could instead take inspiration from the Celestial Warlock: https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Celestial_Warlock_(3.5e_Class)
Or maybe double down on the sorcerer-like nature with divine soul. https://dnd5e.wikidot.com/sorcerer:divine-soul

I would love to actually see a Barbarian archetype most of all. I've mentioned this before but a raging thrower or battlerager or big club guy would be fun af.
I'm all in favor of more good guy stuff. there's an abundance of evil enough in this world. I just wanna be a good guy.

Wizard. Archetype Specialist. Of course we would need new spells. Something like Shades for illusionists or Gate for Conjuration so they can slot a mandatory illusion/conjuration spell at each level. Shades could work similar to the druid summons in the destiny tree, but scaled for 9th level. Choosing to forgo a school would make me feel like a wizard again (who plays a plain ole mage anyway?) A new enhancement tree for each specialty would be just fine.

Let's be honest, this game's devs hate casters. Why would they put out a new caster that has SP ED, and why would we want it. Lets look at the latest Iconic put out, they had 4 classes that didn't have iconic representation, all of which were caster types. What did they do, put out a new and second version of fighter in iconic representation. They want this game mostly if not all melee. This goes for lock picks too, I haven't played the new pack yet, but chill had what, a single trap to disable and it was so easily negotiable you didn't need to disarm it.

I would love to see a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde style Alchemist archetype built around raging, with a full transformation/greater form for the rage. The one problem I have, is none of the Barbarian trees seem like a drop in replacement for Bombardier. I guess I would go with:

Alchemist Class:
At Level 1 get rage form, which counts a druid bear form, but looks more Mr. Hyde like. Cannot be centered.
Remove Elemental Spells
Add Druid Bear Spells

Keep Apothecary (Jekyll)
Replace Bombardier with Natures Protector (Hyde Support)
Replace Vile Chemist with Hyde (Custom Tree)

Hyde would be specialist with simple weapons and great clubs (maybe allow greater from to show great club). Would have strikethrough abilities instead of cleaves (including short term stance that adds ~100 strikethrough for 20 seconds). Would potentially have some weird potion interactions, like triggering wild magic effects when drinking potion with bonus toward good results/no bad results, or maybe on hit procs related to alchemist spells.

drop in place of vile chemist maybe?

I can't disagree with the things you say. I have my main character, an illusionist, with about six heroic/iconic past lives and maybe 9 epic past lives. I also have several alts including a barbarian dwarf. That dwarf with no past lives can top 136,000 in damage in a raid on hard. My wizard can get to about 60,000 on a good day, and not nearly as frequently.

EDIT: oh and that dwarf has 5k hit points and can self heal better and run faster than my wizard. Oh and now that throwing weapons are based off strength he can do some damage at range too.

Some of the older trees could seriously use a rework before considering new trees, though that could maybe be addressed as an adjunct to archetyping a class.

Fighter/Vanguard needs a lot of work. Sword and Board style should be ubiquitous. Instead, it's the ginger of the litter.

Wizard/Archmage is even worse off than Vanguard. Not every wizard dreams of a lich-life.

Warlock/ES is pathetic. It doesn't even have an identity. Is it a melee tank tree? A caster? It lacks the necessary tools for both of those. ALL the newer warlock pacts need to be integrated into the Epic trees and mantles, too.

ES is very nearly just the RAW prestige out of the SRD, while everything that makes a "good DDO build" is 10-250x power creep over tabletop.

I think the dev's had total **** head DM's, and hated the other players that could play casters effectively in the actual D&D game as kids, and they're taking it out on us in this game. LOL

Alchemist, because I haven’t played it yet and it could be a chance for a more accessible in
being alchemist is pay to play, any archetype for it will be too unfortunately. In order for the game to stay going, we do have to pay money, so I do support pay to play on certain things. I do have to tell you, alchemist and favored soul are definitely worth the ddo points if you get the chance. artificer is fun, but I do prefer the other two a lot more.

You need to look at this from a non-raid perspective. These enhancements are fine. Dragonlord and inquisitive are badly designed and need a rework.

Casters used to be stronger than anything else and the last archetype was a caster that is very strong. I don't understand the need to create such myths.

you mean a pseudo caster. Trickster is a rogue that can cast not a true caster. And what they can cast is extremely limited. Which is great, because no one should get everything and be op at everything. A jack of all trades should be sub par at everything.

If we are talking the free classes, all you have left is Wizard and Barbarian.
Barbarian could be some kind of berserker subclass.
Wizard could be anything really, all the usual choices are already in available trees (Necro, Arch, Arc-knight)

Archetypee should have really been racial based instead of class based for 2 reasons...
It builds cultural characterization of the races and it would have open up to more diverse character creation.
