Patience grasshopper, or get your account banned. Your choice. 💀

Irritating yes, but SSG has opened Pandora's Box and is still working on getting everything back in there. Give them some time to fix the f'up.

Charging back when you have actually received what you purchased can and should result in such actions.

Charging back when the system did not actually give you what you paid for is literally the legal remedy for a customer, and retaliation for utilizing such remedy is illegal.
You give them a chance to fix it. Jumping right to a chargeback is not a great idea for any number of reasons. Your first step if SSG doesn't remedy the situation should should be to dispute the charge with your bank. A chargeback will cost SSG money, because at the least, they will get hit with a fee for the chargeback. You go there first and they have every right to ban your account for costing them money instead of trying to remedy the situation the proper way.

I'm curios, in a world of instantaneous online transaction, what the maximum time one should wait before taking the next step? I am not trying to be negative, just would like to know. It has been 6 + hours now.

Anyone?

In game transaction history does not reflect the transaction. Only email receipt and bank records show the transaction occured.
The transaction likely shows "pending" on your bank and does not show posted meaning it that has concluded. You only get screwed when the transaction has finalized and you don't have your stuff. I would most certainly chill like others have suggested. You're not going to get screwed. SSG is swamped now with tickets, and the weekend is here.
Worst case scenario is you have to wait until the beginning of next week. The transaction will likely just fall off after so many days as it for whatever reason didn't complete but put the hold for the amount on your card. It can happen sometimes.

The bank or anyone else isn't going to do anything until the transaction posts which I think is like 2-3 business days. It probably won't even post and your funds will become available again. It's just a hold on the funds. If it posts, and you don't have points you then tell SSG about it. If they say screw you (they won't) then you can file a case with your bank.

The last ticket request I put in took about two weeks (a little less). You might have faster reaction on yours because it is a diffent issue, and should be a higher priority. Keep in mind that they probably have a ton of tickets. It's also Friday.

Not likely, documentation, documentation, documentation. A transaction occured, transaction was processed through bank account, item of said transaction was not delivered.

I am in my legal rights to contest said transaction.
while you can get a refund, usa doesn't have any civilised laws concerning consumer protection, and corporations frequently ban peole who dare to demand a refund for unrendered service

Are the points not awarded because the transaction is in pending status (per post #6)? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just a thought.

Right!?! Frickin barbarians as far as consumer protection goes. Sometimes it gets a little better, but we're in Devo mode right now.

I wish I could give you a good answer but I'm just not sure. Every time i've personally had an issue it's gotten cleared up. And I didn't mean to come off like a douche in my post (though I frequently do at other times hence the title), it was just to point out there are steps a CC company expects you to take before doing a chargeback. It costs a vendor around $70 to dispute a chargeback, so if the amount charged is less than that, they will let it go through. But they won't be happy if they think the situation could be remedied. I might call my card company now to let them know if you don't get your goods by say tomorrow you're going to dispute the charge. I would personally give it until the morning, but you should call them whenever you feel it's been an unreasonable amount of time for them not to respond, even if that is right now. It is your money, so do what you think best.

can you imagine the number of BigCorp that will go bankrupt if robust consumer protection laws were established?

You're correct, the transaction has not finalized. I am monitoring my bank account. When the status does change then I may move to the next faze. It may be pending all weekend. If it does indeed drop off then, I'll try to purchase the point again. ( if they are still double bonus)

The transaction showing as pending in your online banking does not mean that the transaction is incomplete. Most transactions like the one you made to purchase points do the authorization and post-authorization steps essentially all at once. The transaction showing as pending in your online banking is just a function of how your bank handles processing and its policies on transactions.

There are some transactions which have a pre-authorization but then the merchant does not do the finalization of the transaction for some period of time. A good example of this would be a resort, which may adjust the charge if you bill things to your room, or in many cases they will charge a daily fee assuming you will spend that money, and then if you don't, the finalization is for the lesser amount.

But this transaction isn't the kind of transaction that gets left pending by the merchant. They 100% already finalized it.

check your inventory. I've had on one occasion, for reasons unknown, my DDO points appeared as a token in the inventory that I had to click to get it to add to my DDO store points tally
Man, the implications of a DDO points item… I shudder to imagine what that would do if those were tradable

I understand why you feel very put-off, but ( and as much as I hate to give them a break ) don't be hasty. If they ban you what, will be your recourse be at this point in time with the game in semi-crisis? Try to be patient, until at least this crises is solved, or at least some headway is made.

Problem with that is that their terms of service allow them to do whatever they want to you without regards to your legal rights in most other situations.

This includes doing things more punitively to you than other people for reasons such as they simply decided they dont like you, and they might not like you for simply pointing out truths that they dont want talked about in a public forum.

Basically be careful as your documentation does not hold any value once you have broken the rule of cancelling a payment.
