When will those left behind be able to play the game?

I'm not talking about those who had errors or issues with transferring, I'm talking about those who have their main just sitting on a dead/closed server for an undisclosed amount of time - it could be days, weeks, months - no time frame of a goal.

I get that errors occur, it really sucks for those who have had issues, support is swamped, but what executive thought it was a good idea to force the only way to initiate a xfer (even if you're willing to pay) to require logging into the server - especially when you knew it would be closed.

I had the unfortunate luck of returning - attempting to return - the day after servers closed down. I personally was completely unaware of a 32-64 bit conversion. While that is very exciting at what opportunities that brings for us DDO fans, but shutting down the old servers before being within a confident enough time frame to provide a "ball park" goal of when they would be open, is not a good decision.

I have a long history of taking months to a year break after enjoying months of new content that I've let build up, and I have a long history of letting my subscription continue despite not playing as a way of supporting ddo - its a dinosaur but it is a great game for what it is. However, I am very grateful that I am not currently a paying subscriber as I would be paying for a service that by design, I am not really able to play for an undisclosed amount of time, because I wasn't around for a "timed-window" for xfering off a server.
Can we get a ball park estimate please? Something in the form of - days, weeks, months? I don't know about others, but starting a new character is not an option for me. 75+ past lives is not really an investment you want to start over - let alone my stuff/store purchases.
