Who remembers the hysteria about the Y2K bug ?

I miss sharing processor time on my old mainframes.
Or having to send print jobs to the queue for 4 am printing; hoping that I didn't make a mistake and print out a ten thousand page report instead of a 10 page report...but having to wait until the next business day to find out.

My stress levels were much more manageable back then. :ROFLMAO:

I never worked with mainframes in my professional career other than integrating with their data storage - but I learned to be real careful and review my work real good in college because I would submit my code to a mainframe and get results back 2 hours later. When I was discussing it with a professor he told to remind myself how lucky I was because a few years earlier it was all done with punch cards instead of typing.

The good old days weren't always better - at least not everything was better.
