Why do so many ancient raids still have flagging?

Your anger toward "triple boxers" is downright hilarious. Who cares? Why do you care so much that they HAVE TO flag? By "them" not being able to join, then no one gets to actually run the raid, so your little conniption fit about them spites your own goal.
Dude, you're imagining things. I never said I hate triple boxxers. I said that's why they ask to remove flagging. I simply mentioned the reason behind it. I don't like watering the game down further.
There are things that give DDO its character. If you want to play a hack and slash game where everything is available all the time, I can list you at least 10 of them from the top of my head.

That is 100% wrong. People are not asking to have flaggers removed because they "used 3 ottos boxes every life". Do not accuse people like that.

There are things that give DDO it's character.

Also 100% not true. DDO's character comes from old raids still having tedious flagging mechanics? Come off it, man. How can you even take that stance with a straight face?

The armor is nice, but https://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Reflection_of_the_Warblade frees up that armor slot for casters.
I see weapon version in description, not armor like Dragonscale Armors or Demons Engine runearm. Devs really change it? And... your example very good... but very rare MD drop require, right? ;)

It drops shards but not the actual item. Given the drop rates in the raid, you can probably get enough shards just farming for that dragon's eye.
Yea, it's a my point! 8)

Signed to remove flagging on old raids.

Some raids have tedious flagging. Before TRs tedious flagging was not as bad since flagging once and you could run the quest every week for a year without new grind. We would run raids searching for raid gear waiting for our gear to show up on the 20th or 4oth run. I hated running coal, but enjoyed running shroud every week. Now that we TR often, heroic shroud has fallen by the wayside not because it is too difficult or not fun, but I cannot run it because I hate running coal. I have used an ottos box once (when they missed them for free). Circumstances have changed for the older raids, why cannot the flagging requirement change as well. Why should Shroud suffer because coal is so tedious?

The newer raids: Project Nemesis, Threats Old and New, Hunt or be Hunted, Dryad and Demigod do not have flagging mechanics. I appreciate that we have moved from flagging for most raids, lets remove them from the old raids too,

It's a rare drop, so you'll hate yourself before you get it; but it does work on spell casts by design. For anyone who wants magma on spell casts, their options are RDA, demons engine, LGS magma, & reflection of warblade. (It's raid upgraded version of the warblade weapon that has the spell cast version, the non-upgraded version doesn't work on casts)

I really love Von's 5 and 6. Its one of the best-designed raids in the game and has wonderful re-play-ability. While I don't hate the flaggers they aren't as special.

Why should Shroud suffer because coal is so tedious?

Exactly the point of this thread. Removing the flagging requirements would be a fantastic way to breath new life into these old raids.

Eliminating flagging makes it easier to run the quests with the bestest xp and loots. But it would mean that the flaggers could be skipped more often. Also, skipped is the story/lore that makes the quest pack a DnD-like adventure. This completely dilutes the value of the game play. But on the other hand, who really pays any attention to story after the initial few encounters? So why not just adopt more "quests" from wherever, such as LOTRO, or Star Trek or Avengers or ...? No story connection needed. No lore needed. Just ways to get xp and loots.
It doesn’t dilute value of game play

Story & lore are intact while freeing up the options to do the quests in any order & removes the anti grouping mechanic

Anyone who wants story can still play through in intended order If flagging is removed

Back in update 50, they changed ADQ so that the 6-man "pre-raid" became just another flagging quest, further setting the president that its ok to make flagging less annoying.
