Why does Dire Charge have to be so bad?

I just can't use of those "rush towards an enemy" abilities. They feel too restrictive and that they lock me into an animation. I've tried using Dire Charge a few times and always quickly swap it out.

I like that it's a thing to apply many CC effects at once. If it where just a basic cleave attack I'd be more likely to use it.

Hi, imho FotW T4 (Primal Force) to max damage on Quick Cutter is where you want to be, so i'd go full T5 in FotW. There is no reason you cannot use two Epic Strikes; US Cleave is 6 sec CD (with Battle Guard stacks lasting 12 seconds; i've never used this) and Quick Cutter is an 8 sec CD, so you could balance damage and defence. Unless BF or WF I'd keep Shadow Dancer and grab T3 Shadowstriker.
I did T5 Fury, Mantle and Strike last life. I haven't used Legendary Dreadnought in a while, thought I would mix it up. With the upgrades and the macro, it is working out ok; I am skeptical of whether the DC will be enough at cap though. I do have Shadowstriker + Evasion from Shadowdancer.

What I don't like about some of these charge attacks is:
- that they have a delay when landing
- hard to aim your landspot
- sometimes you can half jump through ceilings, other times you plant your face against a chandelier or whatever is hanging from the ceiling.

Yes, because it hits with both your main hand and off hand.

Imho there is still not a solid attack for thwf
it doesn't, it just hits twice with your mainhand with all styles.
It USED to be a single target attack using the sunder animation, which meant it'd hit 3 times (twice with mainhand, once with offhand), now it is a whirlwind attack which is two aoe mainhand attacks.

The fact that you can't follow up with any meaningful strong epic attacks is it's biggest kick to the shin.

Or even normal actions. Things that just pause your character have no place in this game.

Especially when it’s an action that sends you into the thick of combat.

But yes, it counting as an epic strike just seals the deal.

Its a slower animation, I am not a fan of that, but it works.
Are you by chance using vistani knife fighters altered fighting style? QC should be fairly consistent across styles, with exclusions to things like vkf style change (also affects wwa) and wildshape: wolf.

Lol it even stuns your player
If I were to rework it, I'd actually move Dire Charge to t1 or t2 as a non-epic strike. Then I'd move legendary rally down and have that he the epic strike. Let you upgrade it to be usable while helpless, etc. Making it a non-epic strike would be a solid buff within itself.

And it seems like you often miss your target anyway.

I never use it at cap, while leveling epics I find it mildly useful sometimes for melee CC but ONLY IF you get the stun/trip portion. The skill itself without those is hot garbage. But at that point you're talking about 5 points for a okish ability.

It would be nice if they had basic monitoring of usage of things and just saw some abilities at basically 0%.

They wouldn’t even have to think about how or what to buff, crowd sourced data will make it obvious .
