Why doesn't the Myth Drannor+ rare loot actually tell the player that it's rare?

How are new people supposed to know that the super duper rare chance drop in that chest is really rare? The loot should have 1. A unique border like the feytwisted somehow and PLUS 2. Have some kind of text in the description that reads: YO THIS IS RARE.

It's true that there should at the very least be a (rare) after the name or somewhere in the item description.
They are listed on the wiki, but for every rare item/augment that's not of the Artblade/Crownblade/Warblade it takes having a list handy for me to know whether or not it's rare. Plus, some players never use the wiki for insight...

But they didn't actually. They eventually released it when they gave us the list of what you could potentially get by completing the saga.

They are a-holes that believe it is the players vs the devs. This is how we get stupid loot systems and how things like THTH were designed, which by the way was a giant middle finger to the player base and internally was referred to as "go die in a fire" by the devs in a less than passive aggressive jab at the player base.

Actually, I agree.

There are countries that mandate that chances to get an item need to be disclosed ingame, especially if you need to spend currency that can be bought with IRL money (i.e. shards for rerolls).

Since the info is not ingame, I think players should inform others that you are very unlikely to get the rare items you need unless you are whale AND mega-grinder (with friends or an army of alt accounts).

Some countries now have stricter laws for online gaming, roughly translated:
“Online game publishers must immediately and publicly disclose accurate information on the probability/drop rates of all virtual items.”

There have been some massive fines doled out from that, because this applies to every game that's accessible in those particular places.

Oh then DDO better start stating drop rates before they get a lawsuit, since DDO is available (almost?) all over the world. Huge companies could shrug off that payment but smaller ones SSG better be careful I think. We don't want DDO to be closed down due to a lawsuit.

What's wrong with THTH? I like the quest 🙁

The quest itself is fine, but at the time it was released it over-weighted dps. Groups had to be selective about letting people in the group even on LN which just creates hard feelings and is bad for the community aspect of the game. I enjoy running the raid, but am glad base power levels are good enough that we no longer have to be selective about letting people participate.

As someone that leads raids I don't mind dropping difficulty if the group composition warrants it, but I absolutely hated THTH because that wasn't possible initially - you had to limit the party to about half the population because there are lot of casual raiders that weren't able to survive or do enough damage in there even on LN.

It was a terrible raid at the time it was released, but over time player power inflation has mostly solved that issue, but it doesn't get run much. All it has a few good augments to craft, but the rune payout is terrible so few want to run it.

I think SSG would sooner ban European IP's than abide by EU gambling rules. Besides the game and company isn't big enough to go after. It's not like there is a shortage of predatory marketing and illegal gambling in the world.

It should be listed. Honestly, at this point, we have 64 bit servers coming soon and a new ravenloft expansion (maybe mini?). I have 1 item that I use from MD, cause to me, it aint worth the +1/+2 stats and whatnot. Now is the time to do away with rare root that is techically normal progression loot. I think if its rare, it should be something better than normal progression. Right now, its really not, except for certain pieces. SSG should use MD as an painful example of how to lose players, and reverse course going forward. Im ok with rare loot, it its like 2% of the loot table, but its much higher of a % of the loot table than it should be.

Doesn’t Nevada have state laws like this?

Edit: turns out that casinos do not have to disclose odds of slot machines. Wild. I never gamble but why would anyone risk hard earned money when you don’t even know the odds? The same goes for shard rerolls…?

A cursory glance at the forums wpuld quickly inform them that it's on a par with rocking-horse manure

The casinos don't have to post odds because the machines are certified to be genuinely random with a known series of possible combinations. Anyone who wants to can calculate the odds pretty easy. You can also sit down at any machine in vegas and generally see a payout after 5-6 pulls.

This compares unfavorably to SSG, wherein loots drops have been shown not to be random, to have poor distribution, and where the odds cannot be calculated. SSG badly needs to start posting actual drop rates if they want to stay in business.

Try to imagine the casino SSG would open: "Well, hey, its normal to not see a single payout over 100 pulls, but if you just keep feeding that slot machine eventually you'll get 15 wins in a row. No guarantee any of them will be a jackpot, though. Those are rare. Oh, and we can't tell you which wins are jackpots ahead of time, you have to take your winning outside and ask people on the streets."
