why is my display all messed up

today i logged on and the display has black borders on either side, everything is smushed together now and it is very hard to see, it was not like this yesterday and i cannot figure out how to fix it

Might want to try the Technical support thread at the bottom of the forums. I'm not sure what's going on with your display

Did you try this?
1) On the character selection screen, click "Options"
2) Click the "Graphics" option (if it isn't already selected)
3) Check the box at the top, "Detect Optimal Settings"

Check your video settings,. Is your display screen mode = windowed, that would make your screen smaller push objects closer.

Is it squished and also really really bad graphics? One time I had that happen and somehow DDO had switched from my graphics card to some onboard thing it thought I had lol. That's something you can check in the launcher options as well (the little down arrow next to the - and X)
