Why is some U59 legendary gear BTC?

Really dumb. Just farmed some stonedust handwraps only to find out it's BTC.
I understand raid gear, but not quest gear. Silly, silly, silly...

Most probably because this is an update of older content where in the gear was Bind To Character on Aquire and in updating the gear to the legendary version that bind status carries over. Either SSG didn’t think to change the bind status or to change the bind status would take more work hours than they had allotted to this update.

It has been years since i made anything. But if it works the same as before the weapons are BTC on aquire when you loot them.
BUT... They become BTA on epuip after you make an item in Sora Katra Cauldron, You can actually upgrad and sell them on the AH! I used to do it all the time!

The wearable gear is all BTA I believe.

yep that is correct, they are BTC (on aquire) when you get them initally! Why, I have no idea! It is weird and not inline with any other gear upgrade/crafting i can think of.

Then... when you craft/upgrade them, they become BTA on equip. Meaning, until you equip them, they are actually unbound and can be freely traded.

Let us know what happens , I would be interested in what their bind status is present day. I'm going on information and memory from years ago.

Great save! Once combined in the cauldron, it becomes BTA. It would be nice if the devs change all those BTCs so as to not confuse and scare people like me.
