Why Rare Loot is Guaranteed Returning With Lammordia

Christhemiss

for weeks, the community has repeatedly asked SSG whether Lammordia will have rare loot. its an honest question because of how much of a disaster rare loot was and still is. However, I think it is time for us to open up our eyes and accept that rare loot will return with Lammordia.

Why?

SSG has been totally silent about whether it will have rare loot or not. the preorder started yesterday, a full week before the lammania preview of the quests and gear (most likely). this is not a coincidence. Think about it: if SSG announced there was rare loot the first week of the pre order, that would MASSIVELY hurt sales due to the rampant unpopularity of the system. SSG still hasnt said there is or is not rare loot, meaning this is likely the case. Furthermore, if there wasnt rare loot, wouldnt it make sense for SSG to be screaming this from the rooftops to help sales? i know many people wont buy it if it has rare loot, so if SSG just admitted "no rare loot," wouldnt sales go up?

Wake up people. SSG has said all they needed to on this topic. Whether the rare loot is in the same place as md i cannot say, but, at least to me, it is crystal clear rare loot will return, whether the playerbase likes it or not

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, but yes... The silence is deafening

If the rare loot is just pure linear upgrades from non rare loot, that might be ok. Just "super" versions of other items where you can sub one for the other if you get it, without the Tetris changing at all.

But i doubt it'll be that easy

If someone is going to make a decision based solely on whether there will be rare loot - they should not pre-order as there no evidence to indicate there will be a change.

There are alot of things SSG can do besides eliminate rare loot entirely such as reducing the # of rare loot items per quest - maybe to just 1.

I'm interested in what their plan is, but without any information my assumption is that it will be like recent quests.

What, me worry?
agreed, rares of some sort are coming but I believe the voice of the people should be heard...just b/c someone with power over you is likely to wield that power against you in a way you don't like is no reason to accept it quietly... to the contrary the courageous leaders of change throughout history who fought for what they believed in as evidence...nothing is perfect, but true failure comes from quitting the fight.

Here's the motto my leader has been teaching us!
I'll complain about whatever I want whenever I want.

Depending on your country, you should still be entitled to receive a refund for your pre-order within the first couple of weeks, so if they just wanted to wait a little bit before announcing rare loot it wouldn't work.

They're selling ransack timer resets. We already knew the answer to that, SSG's not even pretending to care at this point. :ROFLMAO:
i made the general move to stop preordering anything, ddo/lotro are no exception to this rule. despite that, i always go and check whats on offer and what the ultimate bundles have included.

the moment i saw those 3 chest ransack remover potions, all my brain did was:
"we create the problem (have you loot only a certain amount of time) and now we sell you the solution (remove said barrier, halfheartedly)."

not a good look.
