Wis vs Dex Scourge ranger

I am working on completionist, +8 tomes, 8 past lives. I need a ranger past life and have Aasimar Scourge, so would run to 30 and reincarnate shortly thereafter. I mostly run solo. I was debating whether to run pure 20 Dex ranger vs wis ranger. I have some very good daggers from a past life, so would run tempest and VKF. If wis based, I would get falconry for wis to hit and damage, as well as trance (which is the attraction of the build).

Is the wis trance worth the investment? Should I be looking at heavy mace STR builds instead?

Scimitar Dex or Long Sword STR with Knights training.

Maces are a trap.
