Wolf - Battlemage Quest

Hey good folk,

I figured its about time to make a new forum post all together, since I'm not F2P anymore. (Can I lock old posts?)
I'm a DDO partner now too, and with a very fresh TR under my belt it seemed apt.

My current journey in DDO is based around finding the right battlemage vibes, for me.
Not just a battlemage, thats simply an EK, but battlemage vibes! all the while making it viable without needing a PHD.

Ill post links to my final or ongoing builds.

- First Artificer Build (The most fun I've had so far in DDO)
- First Warlock Build (So hot, so holy)
- Melee Stormsinger / Warchanter
- First Favoured soul (DC's are overated)
- Arcane Trickster but make it a spellblade

Current:
My first ever Dragon Disciple Monk (ddm)

Cheers,
- Wolf

Turns out, making a minor mistake can delay the flow your build by a whole lot.
Currently on a quest to farm 1750 reputation so I can get the +2 tome to actually make my build work.
(Base attribute req for a feat)

I have found a temporary bandaid fix! a weapon combo from house D that will surve me hopefully for a hot min.

I recently completed the 6th melee artificer lives on my Muhhter: 3 Drow lives and 3 Gnome lives. Artificer is potent and versatile. She was the party's buffer, healer, upfront melee and trapper. We played heroic elite to reaper 1-4 depending on who all showed up and the craziness of the quest. GREAT fun!!!

PS At some point take Shield of Faith, observe your toon's Armor Class before and after casting. If it makes a difference to the AC you will have your answer. Stone Skin in heroics is always good ;)

PPS: Enjoy your DDO journey

So about WF & their body feats, it’s only really mithral body which is totally dogshit.

Adamantine body can be quite strong, and having a race that natively is immune to neg levels & can be healed by repairs + cures, is quite nice.

The healing amp penalty can be mitigated with gear and enhancements. It's only on the real high end that the WF penalties become bothersome, but even then not really if the group is decent.

Being able to hit reconstruct and refil your hp bar whenever you like is very satisfying.

Just don't take improved fortification!

why not take improved fort? isn't that core 1?
and adamantine seems fine if you build around it, although the AC hit compared to reg heavy armor is a bit unfortunate.

Improved Fortification, a feat if memory serves (or is it in the WF racial tree, never taken it, don't remember for certain), moderately improves fortification, while making you basically immune to positive healing.

As Phoenicis said, basically makes you immune to positive heals. (Edit - the feat, not from the WF racial tree)

AC isn't so important in todays DDO, PRR & dodge are.

As Adamantine body gives you "heavy armour", you get the most you can (based on BAB, can use enhancements & spells like tensors to maximise it).

TBF, high AC in *heroics* is fantastic, at cap you needed ~200+ when Ravenloft was endgame to see noticable misses from mobs, it should be a lot higher now.

One more perk about WF is that they can hotswap docents, without the delay to put on non-cloth armours - so if you grab the crit damage docent from night revels, you can pop the buff & near instantly be back in your prefered armour.

Almost the perfect gear tetris only to find out Feywild does not have a good trinket for leveling gear T.T

Update to the build, Nothing fundemental has changed, just a leveling up date.
Although I'm doubting the Epic Strike since it only heals and while being stretched for points.
I may cut that for a damage one from a different destiny or simply take the electric one
(although I don't have a lightning strip so too many eggs on one basket could be a problem?)

Further more I got a decent leveling set but I guess I could do better, wonder what folk think.

Going live for a bit trying to level this artificer up and trying to find some new gear while doing so!
Throwing books around isn't working for me anymore.

You talk about *sustain* in your video. What do you mean by sustain?

You can get a little bit of an upgrade on your runearm by farming The Night Revels for the and purchasing the level 7 The Astral Projector with the event ingredients

Aye, using a crafted chimeras fang again, maybe it is time to use that ghost shot for a hot min if it holds up.
Sustain is just able to recover from damage, the more passive the better.

My journey for battlemages continues, I'm loving runearms so far and I'm wondering if it can be pushed further in combination with melee.
First we have to chew through the dreaded gianthold sagas, damn crucible swim ptsd.

Going to tackle the vecna expansion today, folk have been saying it is worth running it.
I'm also looking for a good bastard sword and Rune arm for leveling +20

Since we're way past 20 now (Night revel power leveling is real) I felt like it was time to post an update to the build.
I feel like I should make some changes and stop being a cowerd when it comes to reaper:
