Xoriat-Themed Support Pack

So far, four Coffers have been offered to players over the last year and a half (since summer 2023). I have an idea for a fifth Coffer: Xoriat!

The Plane of Madness would make a great theme for a new Support Pack. Full disclosure: I'm the guild leader of Xoriat Asylum Escapees on Argonnessen.

Awesome guild name :ROFLMAO: I agree, you need more cosmetics to match your guild theme. Maybe a mind flayer companion or would you prefer a taken? You could have a straight jacket cosmetic and you could park next to Durk the Deranged.

I've seen your peeps many, many times on Argo!

Kind of in the same vein from Aelonwy as proof of concept at least.

And another Xoriat inspired thread that is rather neat:

(Bad) Ideas... you could do a beholder beanie (little eyestalks on it n'stuff)
A mind-flayer mask with tentacles (aka "Cthulhu whiskers")

Good ideas (well I think they are...)
Mimic leather armor w/backpack.
Gelatinous cube steed (leaves a slime trail for some bonus lag).
Hound of Xoriat steed.
Gibbering Mouther mask (many eyes and mouths in all the wrong places...)

I really don't like the aesthetic for the current mimic cloak. Rather than being a mural looking thing, it should look more like an actual mimic hide.

Beholder armour/docent/whatever could look much, much more like an actually Beholder. The coloring & plating could be much more beholder-like.

Honestly I'd rather see some non-cosmetic items in game that reflect Xoriat stuff a little better. 🥰

Honestly I feel the Xoriat storyline in general was under utilized. Another Xoriat themed raid/explorer area could be really cool.
I don't really understand Xoriat story lines.

Just seems like the morons in the twelve are not hired based on their INT or WIS scores and they regularly go screw around in Xoriat causing incursions.

Personally, if you gave us a quest where we tracked down all the morons in the twelve and fed them to a Xoriat portal, I might like it better than classic great quests such as purge the heretics.

I would love a Xoriat Wilderness other than Subterrane which isn't organically Xoriat enough for me. I would also enjoy a Dreaming Dark wilderness, of which the titular quest is a great example. I can easily see a Xoriat Saga even though I dislike Terminal Delirium, which would probably be everyone's skip choice. They could tie it to an Epic or Legendary revamp of Threnal where going through the portal in the end quest opens the Xoriat Wilderness.

Unfortunately, Xoriat incursions are not tied just to the Twelve. We have Invaders in the harbor, Caverns of Korromar in Kundarak, Xorian Cipher and Dreams of Insanity in House Jorasco, Threnal in Phiarlan, and Hound of Xoriat/Subterrane in the Market. The Plane of Xoriat invades Eberron quite regularly with or without the incompetence of the Twelve.

Well, some of those are legit, but I don't think private jake who was supposed to be guarding the waterworks when Invaders! took place was hired for his INT or WIS scores either.

This also doesn't change the fact that the twelve are always doing stupid things, I'm surprised they haven't started cloning the dino's from isle of dread in downtown stormreach for an amusement park, cause what could go wrong there?

That brings us to house J, where I think it would be a fun quest to hunt down and feed halflings to a Xoriat portal in order to close it.

I personally like this idea. I would take it a step further and have the portal belch them back up later. All of the halflings that were given the "Xoriat" treatment could be sleeper cells for a later adventure. I figure at some point they would transform into taken and open multiple Xoriate gates to let more madness seep into the recesses of Stormreach.

If they could incorporate Maryle Tallow coming back as a powerful warlock to assist you with the destruction of the halfling taken, I'd bring my credit card out...

No way she died during the missing chain.

Anyone who is compelled to wash windows @ night is tempting fate.
She should be brought back as a ghost who is occasionally seen washing windows. 👻

In Xoriat, mount ride you! I don't know if this is feasible, but here's my idea: when you click on your Xoriat mount, a mindflayer appears that you are carrying piggy-back style. When you press spacebar to jump the mindflayer unleashes a mind blast to keep you moving and his eyes glow white. You move faster than you normally would thanks to your generous master's insistence. The backward movement animation is the mindflayer nodding down, as if he's issuing a new command.

Yeah I like this idea

An additional suggestion for a supporter pack - Knashtooth Pack ((hidden +10 to jump/tumble & +1 electric spell level when wearing the full set)

We don't have kobold race nor plushies even after all these years of asking for them, maybe SSG will let us cosplay...
