XP Requirements for level 35.

This may become an issue when they, hopefully, add legendary reincarnation. For now it is no big deal. You TR and when you get to 30 you take level 34 and run all the legendary quests for the first time. You will be 36 before you are done with first time bonus.

i was shocked i capped 54 minutes after the patch.

This is more what I was expecting. I was hearing people talk about prepping sagas for the level cap increase and I was thinking, "Why would anyone do that. These 2 levels are going to come extremely easily to anyone that doesn't immediately reincarnate the moment they hit level 30." You can hit level 36 just doing typical raiding parties at end game. If you actually play any legendary quests, you'll be 36 in no time.

IMHO, it's not too bad. RL saga = L35. Sharn = L36. That's with First-Time Bonus and 50% XP pot. My buff-bot did not have FTB or Pot and it took MUCH longer to cap (multiple main chars capped before it did).

If you're leveling without FTB, it will be a slow dreary slog.
Definitely the first time bonus is the key. You just have to plan for it. I didn't know that. Still, new content did give FTB so one loop through was enough for level 35. Taking me a while to get to 36. Completing sagas without FTB giving less than a full rank. Not impossible, but not really fun in my opinion.

If progression was bta, I wouldn't be so worried about the massive grind, but since it's per character, it's time to start thinking about a cap. The grind per character is absurd. Playing alts is torture these days.

Hundreds of PLs, reaper points, rare loot, gear hidden behind massive grinds like Reaper shards, low rates, BTC restrictions, storage on coffers and xpacks for only one character... enough is enough. They need to stop penalizing alts for everything.
That. So much.

216 past lives and 156 Reaper APs, and growing, is more than enough to do if you do it one time in my opinion – for this reason: account-based progression, please!
Yeah, htey could get me to grind legendary tr's if they made a system wehre each one let me pick an existing past life off the character I'md iong it with to convert it account so I can have more fun with my alts.

Account based xp or not is a really tough question.

On one side it would make playing alts much more viable - thus leading to more potential sales of tomes etc to each character. For anyone who is not close to maxing a character it would not limit anything as you still have progress to make.

On the other hand shared xp would somewhat remove the drive to play alts for those who have a character with everything as there is nothing more to gain. This leads to a loss of sales in xp pots and boxes.

There would also be the issue of how to convert from individual progress to shared progress.

So, there are pros and cons and no easy way to minimize the downsides.

For most of us, shared experience would be no problem, and may even be a boon for the people that want alts. But for those people that already have a triple completionist, if not more than one, shared experience basically destroys the game. Currently we have people working on their third or fourth triple completionist and you would be making it so that there is no reason for them to play anymore.

Shared experience could only work if there were unlimited past lives. People need something to work on and with all the complaints about there already being too many past lives and people saying they hope there is no legendary reincarnation, the only thing keeping a triple completionist around is that they can do it again on another character. Shared experience destroys that. You can't have both a cap on individual character progression and shared experience. Everyone deserves something to do in the game, including the people that play a lot and are extremely efficient at acquiring past lives.

There is exactly one thing that DDO offers that keeps me around and that is effectively unlimited character progression. In my case I intentionally slow down the rate I acquire past lives (I have 130-something at the moment) so that I will never lose the ability to progress a single character. Other people would rather fully cap a character and start an alt. That is fine if that is there choice. But shared experience removes the ability of those people to have anything to work on. That one patch would effectively end the game for every person that values growing characters and already has a triple completionist.

I don't think we should change what is now char based, personally. It'd only make some people angry.

But I would like the Next Big Grind coming to be account based, so there's one for supporting alts, too. Everything so far has been char based grind, doing a single grind as account based shouldn't be that awful - I am still working on my third triple everything completionist, and there's always a fourth after that...

That is an interesting idea. With how long a single legendary past life is likely to take (unless they change the amount of experience required for legendary levels), they could make legendary past lives account based. They would be slow to acquire but would affect every character in your account and people that max out could still make alts to work on all the other lives (they would just start with every legendary past life already in effect).

legendary reincarnation will be non-existent at my house. even epic play will be past history when all epics are filled in (there will be lives to collect any new epics)

Just getting to the point that I don't care, but since they created the never-ending pasta bowl for hero levels I have things to do.

I definitely enjoy heroics the most, but I don't mind them giving people that love legendary content something to do. As long as they design it so that all legendary quests can be played by any character between level 30 and 40 (including all the raids) it will allow people that want to spend their time in legendary content their own form of reincarnation. It is a nice balance between juggling end game content with character growth (something this game has always been lacking in).
