I haven't had the time to play the last two updates but I am getting ready to start. If anyone has any advice in the area of best equipment or sets in game currently. I have mostly Isle of Dread stuff but was wondering if the new updates have better stuff overall. I am a fire sorc, will always be a fire sorc, and I'm well aware of the shortcomings of being a fire sorc...just looking at overall equipment in general. Are there any particular items that stand out?? I'm won't do the never ending search for rares but it would be nice to know if I accidently come across one. Thanks, happy questing!

Chill is an upgrade, but requires rares and raid items. My alt still uses an iod set plus gomf sets.
Unfortunately, with each new expansion, caster gearing has become increasingly worse. The newest downgrade was the essential removal of spell focus mastery. Now you need to gear regular spell focus, and eventually insightful spell focus for each individual school.

There's minor artifact boots with +18 evocation DC; drops randomly from any end chest in the demogorgan saga - useful for a sorc. Since IoD, the minor artifacts now also have 5 filigree slots instead of 4.
Chill raid has items like boots, bracers, belt, neck, etc with 4 crafting slots; which can hold +23 fire crit damage, +12 insightful fire crit damage, +6 quality fire crit damage, and the 4th slot can be +2 profane DC or other things, so slightly superior to IoD.

Unfortunately, this item was nerfed yesterday after the Wednesday's patch, its down to +16 evocation focus.
It would be nice if there aren't rare loot in Chill.
