You know you're old when you'll pay good money for things you used to consider punishment... like getting spanked by a middle-age women in a nun's habit![]()
When your Character level was 10 max in DDO![]()
...when riding in the back of the pickup meant standing in the bed and holding onto the edge of the roof pointing out woodchucks to your cousin
Exactly.Running down country roads standing on the back bumper holding on to the tailgate. Why else was the back bumper flat on top if not for standing on?![]()
I actually grew up in the 60s. Missed the first assassination early in the decade. My dad was in the Air Force, and we were in Istanbul. Remember the others in '68. Remember watching all the riots and the Vietnam War on the 6 O'clock News. Also, drive-in movies, as a kid, which always seemed to be Elvis movies.Aw you kids and your 1970s.
The 60s was where it was at.
Supercar, Herculoids, Presidential assassinations (learned what mourning meant because they canceled my cartoons for the, well, morning)
Taking your jug of water and blanket (half of one for me, sister had the other half) to school because Cuba was only a hundred miles away
Computers were only in movies for most of us
Dad worked one job, mom stayed home and with four kids we always had hella large Christmas
Saturday night at the movies was a big thing. What, this was at the theater only six years ago?
Those Beatle guys need haircuts
And so it goes...
Now you have me remembering the M.A.S.H. episode when they operated on Radars rabbit for that.... when you remember pregnancy tests necessitated the sacrifice of a cute fluffy bunny.
I got duped into one Elvis movie. I think it was Viva Las Vegas. Trailers had some monsters but it was just those gosh darn kids playing a prank. My drive in time was mainly Godzilla. Dad was retired Army and I think he enjoyed them as much as I did. When he passed my best friend and I slipped two tiny Toho figures into his pockets as he lay in his casket. Thanks for the memories off topic thread.I actually grew up in the 60s. Missed the first assassination early in the decade. My dad was in the Air Force, and we were in Istanbul. Holy Cow thats crazy sad. And now pennies have been canned. The entire planet is becoming Amazon.com.they had some new clerks they were having to teach them what coin values were and how they added up. Sad but true.
