On the ?plus side...It'll make forging their parents signatures much easier for the students...

This has reminded me of another story - one we never let our boy live down, of course.

When he was young young, one evening he had asked his mom how to spell her name. She spelled it out for him thinking how cute is was.

We get a call from the school next day. Seems in an attempt to get extra lunches, he had taken one of her checks and tried to make it out to the cafeteria. Guess his cursive wasn't quite up to snuff yet. :D :D

"There are some who call me...Tim"
/bow. That is some of the best comedy I've ever seen. I am a huge Three Stooges and Abbot & Costello fan. Like Laurel & Hardy too and even the Marx Bros. Tim Conway is in the highest of echelon of comedians.
The looks that he was able to put on Korman's face were priceless. I couldn't imagine trying to stay on target when Conway was improvising.

Ran my first BBS on a C=64.

Then a C=128, then a TRS-80 1000TX

Right on!

Check this out, still on sale for launch year, https://www.commodore.net/product-page/commodore-64-ultimate-basic-beige-batch1

Has ethernet and wifi, plus modem capability. Can launch modern BBS, or at least should. The beige is going fast, but I may get the translucent gold founder's edition.

EDIT ~ I went with the beige edition at $393.24, since tarrif tax, which the sale somewhat offsets. And because I still have my OG C=64 and want to direct compare.

... You know your old when you recognize the luggable luggage called the Commodore SX-64 "laptop", the world's first color portable computer. Thing seemed like it weighed 150 lbs. and NOBODY used it on their laps!

I used to have a similar Kaypro portable CPM that felt like it weighed 50 lbs. Had dual drives, before HDs became avail. Protect the floppies!
We had a Kaypro portable for an office PC when I was in the Navy.

I bought a TRS-80 Model 4P. Back then they shipped a tech manual with logic diagrams with it!
