Your main server from July ?

Pretty simple -- which server will be your main when they open ?

Chatting to a friend and he is thinking we go Thrane rather than Cormyr.

Will be an interesting experience. A totally new server with the potential to be packed half the day and somewhat busy the other half.

I will transfer my guild, Xoriat Asylum Escapees on Argonnessen, to Oerik on July 9th. I want to start completely fresh on a brand new server and Greyhawk is my favorite DnD campaign setting.

I think most likely Moonsea, might be a bit of a tossup between which is lower latency from Asia (Amsterdam vs Las Vegas) but it's closer to European players in terms of raiding/grouping. Currently on Cannith it's not uncommon for my merry band of 5 to be half the players at cap during off hours.

Yeah, thats the problem, some people would rather stay where they are. And I may be imagining it, but I swear the devs originally said that the 32 bit servers would remain open.

Yes. But the question is "from the July" and I can do it later, in August.
Too bad it's just 2 months, I hoped for at least a year. Or to stay forever at Argo since they initially said they won't close 32bit servers. Sorry, but from my (player's) point of view, I saw zero reasons or advantages of 64bit servers after I've tested the gameplay on Lammannia and Cormyr.
"More players" doesn't bother me. And having more LFMs total but zero LFMs in my current level range makes no differences.

Leaning toward Thrane, already have a Cormyr toon with my main's name. Kinda waiting to see what some of the Cannith guilds are doing since I do like to run raids now and then.

I'm following my guild, and we're planning on coordinating with a friendly guild. Which in turn is talking about coordinating with some other guilds around that they have friends with.

Beyond that, it's undecided.

As for the poll, I'm thinking Moonsea right now, but I'm worried about what the population size will look like as I imagine Cormyr might be popular since it already has a population going. I'll probably end up starting on Moonsea and then transferring if another server turns out bigger.

Cormyr will be fine, but don't expect people to flock there. Many will want to go to a server where their favorite names aren't already taken. Thrane looks like it's becoming the new Orien, though we'll see.

Moonsea will have a good population. Being the only European server, it'll attract a lot of people, while the Americans will be spread across three different ones, so one of them may have a low population.

I tried to be as careful as I could, but "from July" doesn't actually mean "in July".

I really just wanted a question and poll as simple as possible.

There are no upsides.
But there is a tedious process of transfer with the risk of losing something.
Also, I'm not sure 1 EU server will be enough and I would be able to play without horrible lags.

I think it won't -- though do be careful, I did post the poll at the very point when the Americas were off to bed whilst the Old World was beginning to wake up ; so that the current % spread is by no means trustworthy.

But I have an impression that the most populous worlds will end up being Cormyr and Moonsea.
