I didn't pay much attention to LorRO's transfers, but wasn't SSG have miscalculated and forced to hurriedly opened up several additional servers there ?
They had to open an extra European server, I don't know if any other American ones too.

With the ping to Cormyr, I don't really see any other option than going to Moonsea. In some ways, I'd have preferred to keep playing with the American players I've come to know. But... with a latency that high, the game simply isn't fun anymore. For me, anyway, I know others have a much high latency and still manage to play. How, I don't know, but I'm impressed.

So Moonsea it'll be. I hope to see all you slackers there :p

I hope to meet you on many raids!

Your feelings mirror mine. I hope cross-server LFMs can be a thing someday.

Yeah, thats the problem, some people would rather stay where they are. And I may be imagining it, but I swear the devs originally said that the 32 bit servers would remain open.
no they will close and for two years you'll still be able to transfer characters

What do people consider a bad ping?

I will be dropping from 250-300ms down to 200-250ms (approx). Probably not at all noticable, but if there is no lag then it will be a massive improvement.

If latency was important Id be playing WOW with 10ms latency.

I will probably create some toons on Moonsea more out of morbid curiosity??? I'm on the west coast in Cali, so the Merican servers make the most sense.

May I ask more accurate data and your state/country ?

I'm not sure yet which will be my forever server.

But I know for certain that I want another authentic Hardcore server experience!

While I want to go to Moonsea because I really like the name, it is too far away and thus out.

Thrane is gaining momentum as the raider server so that is very probably out. Good luck to all the raiders but I will not thrive in that environment.

The name "Vacuum Cleaner" is so colossally incredibly stupendously stupid I do not want to go there. 😾

That leaves Cormyr. There are some good people already established on Cormyr. However, if Cormyr becomes one server to rule them all, I will go elsewhere.

There is a certain guild that interests me. No, I will not tell you the name. Whatever server that guild goes to will rise in my ranking.

There are also some people who interest me. No, I will not tell you who. Whatever server(s) those people go to will also rise in my ranking.

There is one final consideration. I am much older now. My life has changed drastically over the last decade. It may be time to walk away and sail West. That is what I did when Middle Earth consolidated.

No matter what happens, I wish everyone good luck finding a happy home. 😺

I've rarely pinged above 30-35 in any game I've played. DDO i ping from 6 to 10. So even 60-80 is going to feel pretty rough to me.

Hmm seems like Moonsea is the preferred server, but that's just a tiny fraction of the playerbase that voted.
If the international community is on Moonsea I'd prefer that both because of latency and well the international community
But if the population is EU only I'd move to Cormyr

In my experience people usually consider a "bad ping" to be in relation to whatever they are used to. I've seen people seemingly devastated from going from 50 to 100. I'm in a similar boat, probably going from 250-300 to closer to 200. I've found that loss is way more important, 300 with 0 loss is very playable, but if the loss gets to 5% and especially 10% then it's rough to do r10s.

I played WoW when it was 200ms to 250ms, and it was okay. PvP was very noticeable when playing against non-Austrlalians but PvE not so much. Now with WoW its 12ms to 20ms and everyone has about the same ping so its smoother but overall not a huge difference.
