Tried using the code to upgrade my current expansion,
took the code alright but could not complete the purchase.
It locked up the buying app
....... might want to look into that

The 30% code worked for me for xp pots even though they were already on sale for 20%. I thought you could only purchase xpack upgrades via the market (which would not have a coupon discount obviously).

I not sure what tangent some folks are going off of ... but ok.
Sure, they can not be used there I guess, but I find that odd when the store app
for the expansions say - We have accepted your code for 30% off.
It literally said that, it knew the code was for 30% off.
Now being a thinking man, and I am.
If the code was not to be used there, it would instead say 'Invalid code'
So I know what your all saying, but the store app does not agree with you.
and none of you work for SSG.
So nothing personal, but I will take all your posts with a small grain of salt.
Have a nice day

I am totally over it.
However, if a code is not supposed to be valid, it should say
........... drum roll please ............ code not valid.
but I really don't care about that, it is just another example of poor quality
that I have come to expect with DDO.

I have had an issue like this in the past. Yeah, it is easy to use a code, but there is a pretty easy way to mess it up too. The code isn't a discount, it turns on the ability to choose a discount. And that is a bit confusing. It seems like there used to be a pay window that also allowed the code. But I can't remember exactly now. I do remember messing up the first time they did this by entering the code at the wrong place. THEN the next time they offered one, I was very deliberate in my selections, and messed it up again, because I was still treating it like a discount coupon. Now I know, enter the code, then check your discount. But it isn't intuitive. It is something you have to learn is different. Once you learn it, yeah, it seems simple enough. But it is easy to mess up too.

I don’t think this is a good approach when the discount system is designed in a way that causes so many people to apply it incorrectly or lose it without realizing what happened.

At this point, I would honestly rather have no discount at all than buy something at full price because the system is so confusing and unreliable.

It makes me feel as though I was misled, even though I understand that this was probably not intentional. Ultimately, it is simply a very poor user experience.
