Update 75

  • Updated Viktranium Experiment planner craftable items based on live server data.
  • The new Sun/Moon augments and quest loot items will be verified and updated (as needed) over time as they are found. I will likely be sourcing both the DDO Wiki and the DDO Compendium for up-to-date data on those items.
  • The banner at the top of the Viktranium Experiment crafting page has been updated to reflect this.

I would like your post but it might be interpreted as sarcasm and harassment.

Anyway, sincerely, good job.

A suggestion. You could make more efficient use of space on the Shadow Crypt "solver" by using NSEW instead on the long check list. For example:

<red tab>
All 12 keys as one group:
EEE ESS NWN (dd) SES SW

All 12 keys, splitting into two groups (G1 and G2), with G2 waiting in the start room until the colour is known
G1: <sorry, I don't have this on my crib sheet>
G2:

8 keys* as one group:
SWE EEE WEW

8 keys*, splitting into two groups (G1 and G2), with G2 waiting in the start room until the colour is known
G1: NN SEW
G2: WW EWW

* You will get two of each colour key so you can open the way to the final fight but you will not have the extra keys needed to open the bonus chests in the treasure room.

You can add extra explanations on the <How to play> tab that N = "move north" and so on.

My HTML skill are not up to it, but your handy check buttons could be used by placing them above each cardinal direction (NSEW) or, my preference, above each cluster of three directions. I can remember three directions at a time but not the whole string of 15.
I've updated the pathing to include the 8 Gear two team routes. I don't know the 8 gear single route but would not be opposed to adding them.

As for additional explanations, I'm going to have to run the quest on each route and take notes in each room but will add more detailed explanations in the near future.

I've also added a toggle button to change the layout from the vertical to horizontal (both layouts remain mobile friendly and keep the checkboxes to track your progress)

Hey all, so things have slowed down a little bit on my end, but we're still chugging along putting new things in! Just added a Saga Tracker so you can keep track of what sagas you've completed while leveling or during a saga grind. The saga information is saved in your browser so you won't lose your progress between sessions. You can check off individual quests that you've completed as you do them or just the check whole saga. When it's turned in, just check "Turned in" for that saga to save you from running around trying to remember which ones you turned in this life or not. It also gracefully handles the Eveningstar sagas where single quests belong to multiple sagas, so it should save you from going from wiki page to wiki page trying to figure things out.

Hope you all find it useful!

Hey all, so big update coming for YourDDO. Now that I have all the augments categorized and put on the site, I have (what I feel is) a solid working product for Cannith Crafting. I currently only have it on the YourDDO Dev Site. Currently looking for overall functional and design feedback. I am aware that combined prefixes are not being listed at the moment. I have to sit on a crafting device soon and actually craft some to verify the numbers they give out before I put them in there. Other than that, I'm open to any and all feedback (keep it constructive, please). If you use it on your mobile device and see any weirdness in layout, ping me about it on Discord with screenshots so I can make adjustments accordingly. This type of site is difficult to get right for all the possible device types.

I'll continue to make adjustments based on feedback and additional testing over the next couple weeks and hoping to have it out on the main site before the end of the year. This page was a LOT of work so I wouldn't be surprised if there was a scenario or 3 that I didn't test myself.

The heroic green steel crafter doesn't work well. Let's say I want to make a kukri with three different stacking kinds of healing amplification and a raise dead clicky, I pick the weapon, I scroll down the first list until I find healing amp, scroll down the second list until I find healing amp, and then the whole screen goes grey and I can't see anything. Had another grey screen event picking some options at random, not sure what combinations I picked for the second one.

Now let's say I want a cloak that's a displacement clicky and gives stacking +6 bonus to charisma skills like UMD and +4 to intelligence skills like DD. Pick the cloak, select Displacement as my bonus spell, and I filter the long list of options to see the ones that give those skill bonuses, but there's still 12 options that give +4 int skills and 8 options that give +6 cha skills divided between "basic upgrades" and "focused upgrades" at the Altar of Devastation. If I ignore the focused ones because I don't need any guard effects and randomly pick the positive option out of the two basic ones, then look at adding the +4 int skills and click the radiance option for int skills, it changes my clicky to something different, so I either need to know ahead of time which one I needed to pick or click through and try them all until I find the right one, IF I even notice it changes my clicky at all. If I go back to the +6 cha skills and instead select the option with concord opposition under focused upgrades, my clicky disappears and gets completely locked out AND the reset button for the +6 cha skills doesn't work anymore, so I can't even clear that off. This appears to happen with any option with a long enough name that the reset button moves under where the ingredients lists are, even if those ingredients lists aren't yet long enough to actually cover the reset and filter buttons. If you leave everything blank except pick "Greater Elemental Spell Power, Wisdom Skills, - Exceptional Bonus +6, Steam Guard" for T3-F, which is only long enough for most of the reset button to be under the ingredients lists, only the left most portion of the reset button can be clicked on.

When I made some green steel items years ago, there was a particular planner that's just gone now but worked so smoothly. It would just list all of the different possible effects an item could wind up having as clickable hyperlinks on one page, with no mention of these different aspects or affinities used in the crafting process. Whenever you click on one, it would select that one as a property for your item and immediately grey out every option that was no longer possible. Click another one, a bunch more would grey out. Click one you already clicked on, it would un-select that one and bunch of options would no longer be grey. You could very quickly just focus on getting the effects you wanted and learn what effects can't be combined with each other on a single item. Would be nice to see something like that again, as I do intend to make at least one more green steel item.

Just tested this and was able to reproduce the issue. I will get it fixed up in the morning.

I see what you're talking about here. Guess I just looked at the UI more from a developer perspective than a user perspective. I'll make some updates and improvements to make this more straight-forward and cleaner. Will take a few days most likely, but I'll get it done. As for the long list of effects, did you try using the filter buttons on the end of each dropdown menu? They provide an alphabetic list of all effects that are available at that crafting tier with any duplicates removed.

I'll also go ahead and update the verbiage on "Basic" and "Focused" upgrades to include something along the lines of "Single Shard" and "Dual Shard".

I'll go ahead and remove the "Aspect of ..." entries since many crafters really don't need that info (albeit the "Aspects" are critical to the logic behind how items are built). That should make things cleaner and easier to scan overall.

Not sure which planner you're referring to. The idea with my planner is that invalid selections should not even be visible, so the fact that some invalid things are being shown would constitute a bug that I'll fix. Historically, I've been told by many crafters that they either build from T3 > T1 or vice versa so I admittedly did not do a whole lot of testing from building starting with the Clickie effect.

Yep, using the filter buttons was how I got the numbers that there were 12 different things I could select to get +4 int skills and 8 different things to get +6 cha skills.

I couldn't tell you what planner that was either as tons of old green steel planners have stopped working, and DDOwiki removed links to non-working ones since the last time I checked it. Just a note on what was an easy-to-use planner back in the day. Part of that was than an effect like +4 int skills would only be mentioned once on the page without mention of exactly where you're getting it from until the item is finalized and you're being told how to make it.

Updated the Saga Tracker based on user feedback. It now has a tabbed interface (Heroic, Epic, Legendary). It has better persistence stability. "Turning in" a saga no longer unchecks quests that are also part of other sagas.

Coming soon I will have some minor bug fixes for several of the crafters, adding missing images where I can and layout fixes for mobile views.

What sort of other new additions would you folks like to see me add?

I love yourddo, and I use it for many things.
But, cannith crafting (soon to be renamed) is still inferior than the following website that has stopped updating: https://ccplanner.byethost14.com/?i=1

Perhaps, you could start porting stuff and functionality?

I would be happy to contribute to the effort if I can.

Hey there! I actually have a bunch of optimizations and additions for CC that I have been working on. But with the looming release of "Magic Item" crafting, I've been holding out from releasing them so I can go through and verify everything after the transition. It's been my experience that even something as simple as a name change can have minor changes/tweaks omitted from release notes so I will be verifying all CC data (once again) after the update.

My ultimate goal is to not create carbon copies of other existing tools out there. I recognize and respect the work that others have put into their tools/sites. That being said, I am aware of certain functionality that is in the planner that you mention that is inherently missing from YourDDO's rendition. I have plans on adding functionality similar to what the other planner calls "Gear Master" but with some more current hueristics and better slotting logic while giving flexibility to the users at the same time.

As for contributing, I'm definitely open to PRs and other collabs. In retrospect, I have kind of let the codebase get a bit gross, so I should probably clean that up before anyone chooses to dive in and help out. Feel free to reach out to me in Discord if you want to discuss further.

Hey, I found you at discord but couldn't send you a message or a friend request.
Anyhow, I was thinking of preparing something small for start, calculating miss chance and the the impact of each defense. I could make it as a simple html page with some JavaScript and no styling.
Then you take it and style it to add it to the site.
Similarly, I could help you with the crafting.
I was thinking that it would be nice to choose from a list of a abilities, and it would limit the items you can choose/slots you can place.
You choose a second ability, further limitations and finally 3rd.
This would allow a player to craft based on the ability they need.
I need XYZ, I start with that and the planner tells me where to craft it. Trinket, orb, etc...

I'll spend the next few days getting the repo cleaned up and organized so that it is ready for contributions and I'll make a Discord specifically for YourDDO and post the link in the OP when it's ready.

On the topic of contributing, generally in open source projects, you do pull requests against the repo; not make something and then expect others to merge it in stylistically and whatnot. But I'll get more into that on the Discord after I create it as info on contributing is out of scope for this forum. Keep an eye out on this thread for when I add the server link.
