The Hirelings worked alot better at the beginning, same thing with Artificer pets and Druid Wolves. They healed fast and frankly kicked alot more butt. The wonky AI was done on purpose
The OP was talking about the challenge of onboarding new players to reaper. R1 is such an awful experience for new players it probably should have the delving bonus removed. Making R3 in Heroics the default LFM reaper mode with a 300% delving bonus for RXP and the minimum level for a heroic...
R1 is easier than elite with enough points(More HP, Reflex Saves, PRR, Free Spell Points, etc). R2/R1 Heroic 1st time XP should be less than Elite with a little bit of a bump for R3. This would be a better catch up mechanism for new players joining Reaper groups in heroics.
Different kinds of players would buy RXP pots, especially clickie ones if they were guaranteed to be a Solid Value. More Often
Besides removing Curses, those cards are currently good for buying Guild Ships
I dunno, maybe people who want to be able to pull Cleansing cards?
Having to stuff zombie bits into holes to lead a Rat to get here again is not an appealing option 🤣
I think SSG's approach to solo players is to expect them to load up on Gold Seal Hirelings, whether from the store or the Premium Expansion edition.
Pro Tip: Reaper runs R4 or higher tend to be more mature players who can help gear you up better and faster than solo. Just avoid the R1 groups...
The game is still very playable and its seems a bit less laggy(for now). Perhaps excess tumbling really did have a ridiculous amount of enemy pathing number crunching connected to it. Maybe it sucks more to solo in challenging content but that can be solved with other players
