Dirgesinger Bard of Sarlona
This is basically what I run for my favor earner on every Hardcore League I participated in. Always been successful to me. It's low dps, but not too low dps for elite or even r2 play. It becomes super bulky by level 10 and 12, when you have both reconstructions and the repair aura. I know it's pretty basic but sometimes that's all it takes 
I go war hammers for simplicity, tried bastard swords and you don't get much strike through less you move things around, which I don't dig I feel I picked a good balance of defensive and offensive stuff. I had a friend make a ranged variant of this build too. You can definitely shift things around for your liking. WF bring a lot of defenses and immunities which just cancels some early threats, being a bulky trapper is great, damage mitigation and self healing is key here.
