  • Retired Navy Chief. Spent years living in Japan and traveling around the western Pacific. Also, have been all over the US. The world is a lot smaller than you might think and people are more alike than different.

From all my travels I listen to comments from people and came up with these worldwide truths. I want a better life for my kids, my boss is an idiot, I do not get paid enough and the government taxes me too much.

So what do you do, find something that you find fun and do that.

I do. When we moved my birth certificate got lost and I had the fun of finding out where I had to apply to get a new copy at the state department. LOL Thank you for the reply, I love hearing about it all. :)

When I gave my son his, I told him to make sure not to lose it. Mentioned he would have to contact the Embassy in Tokyo for a replacement. Not sure if that is the case but figured it would be the easiest thing to do. I was born in Albuquerque NM, my dad was in the Air Force. Lost my birth certificate and had to contact the state to get a new one. They do not have raised seals on their birth certificates just like Hawaii. Drove through there when I was about 25 to see what the city looked like. I was 8 months old when the family moved.

If he ever does lose it he can get a copy here. :) They are SLOW though. LIke they cashed the check I sent with the form within a few days (the mail delay) but it didn't come for FIVE MONTHS. That's a long time to look up a record and press print. :) I treat that paper like it's royalty now after that. It wasn't a hard process is the good news, just slow.
