When you upgrade a guild airship, do you still pay the full price for the ship or only the difference between your current ship and the new ship? I don't care about plat versions. But if we get a ship with astral shards and want to upgrade later, is it that a wasted investment?

Since 2007 "We're supposed to know stuff??"
I had to pay full astral shard cost for my airship upgrade, had I known that before I got my first shard ship, I would have just waited and saved up shards for my expensive biggest ship.
