Alchemist apothecary t2 death salve doesn't work

Alchemist apothecary t2 gives both live salve and death salve as SLAs. The death salve doesn't work; it will show the buff on a hire or other play but they're not actually flagged as undead nor healable by negative energy spells. Pretty sure this has been broken for as long as alchemist has been playable and multiple bug reports have been filed over that time.

I reported this a few days ago too.

Death Salve SLA (option in Apothecary tree, under Life Salve): This has no effect. Enhancement points are spent, animation plays, spell points are expended, a buff icon appears on the target, but it doesn't actually DO anything. So it does not allow allies to be healed from negative spells. In addition, allies cannot be properly targeted with the Inflict Admixture spells (to heal them via Death Salve) even while under the effect of Death Salve.

Just looked into this: Death Salve is putting your Negative Absorption down to -100%.

This is correct when numerically and logically thinking about converting damage into healing.

Except that's not how it works in DDO. In order to heal instead of being Immune (100% Absorption) or take reduced damage ( < 100% ) or take EVEN MORE damage ( < 0% although there might be a floor), it needs to be > 100% Absorption.

This can be coroborated through checking Undead Forms (200% for 100% Negative Healing), Fiendish Symbiosis Form (200% for 100% Fire Healing), and the Invincibility Buff (100% - Immune) and of course basic damage (0% - Normal).

So it's definitely working, just that it is giving the wrong buff number. It should be setting Negative Absorption to 200% and not to -100%.

A Dev will need to adjust that (should be a quick fix too).

It's likely more than just that as the person isn't flagged as undead currently, so they can't be targeted by any negative spells. It'll give a wrong target type error if they're hard targeted (aoe spells cast around them don't splash the negative heals so it's probably a mix of multiple incorrect settings).

Ah, indeed. Not being set as Undead is preventing the spells from actually correctly identifying you as Undead and suitable for the portion of the Spell that provides the healing side.

However, even if they were Undead (which can't be targetted) if set at -100% Negative Absorption, you will actually take damage instead of being healed by it, so in combat, if you actually applied Death Salve to someone (say a Tank) and they had 0% Negative Absorption, they will begin taking double the Negative Damage at that point. Great way to grief a Tank I guess. :p (Although tests show that Death Salve actually gives you a -100 modifier and doesn't actually set you at -100 so that's not too big a deal).

Hint: DON'T use it on a Tank (eg in Skeletons where Deathward is dispelled often by Flame and needs Absorption to shrug off the Negative damage).
