Did you log in and log out? Also, some of the newer expansions have someone you have to talk to so that you can get the stuff.

Yeah, try to log in and out. If it's salt marsh, check for an npc in the salt marsh tavern. If it's the isle of dread check for an npc in the nw section of the harbor (beside the transport npc to the island and above the trainers near the leaky dingy). You should be able to claim the items via those two npcs - Zalnathe for isle of dread (dragon born), Garthalmor for saltmarsh (dragon born).
