Despite the crying about nerfs the game has never been easier. Characters are more powerful than ever.

The difference between DDO just post-F2P and DDO now is all about player power levels. Just post-F2P in 2009 most players had similar available power levels because the TR madness hadn't fully manifested and gear was roughly standardized outside of raid gear and reaper was just a hideous manifestation on the distant horizon.
