Last week we had very good turnout for our Feywild double feature in Dryad and the Demigod and Hunt or Be Hunted, including some folks who were first timers to our teaching raid events. This week we hope to see even more newcomers for one of DDO’s greatest classics.

Next in our series of teaching raids will be epic Vault of Night and Plane of Night (aka epic VON 5-6) on Saturday, January 27 at 1pm ET!

All events in this series are for players new(er) to raiding or players who are looking to learn raids better. First timers welcome! Please have sound and be willing and able to follow instructions.

The goal is to welcome newer players into the raiding scene, to teach you how raids work, to get players more comfortable with raids and to enhance the DDO community. There is no level cap for any of our teaching raids, but you must be at least level 20 to enter epic content.

If you are new to epic VON 5-6, you will need to flag by running the first 4 quests in the Vault of Night story arc (VON 1-4) in House Kundarak: Tharashk Arena, The Prisoner, Jungle of Khyber and Haywire Foundry. You will need to have access to the Vault of Night adventure pack. You can run the flagging quests on heroic or epic to flag just the same. Note that this adventure pack is included with the current coupon code FREEDDO2024.

Epic VON 6 contains some remarkable loot, including one of the most sought after 2-handed weapons in the game (the Sword of Shadow) and Kundarak Delving Boots, which is the lowest level item that provides a continuous Freedom of Movement effect. It also contains the Disciplinator rune arm and the epic Helm of the Red Dragon, which is prized for its unique cosmetic. Additionally, all heroic and epic loot was recently revamped and new legendary versions are available! Despite being one of DDO's oldest raids, VON 5-6 is a very important raid in DDO's lineup because it gives huge xp so it remains very popular in both heroic and epics so is a great one to learn.

The Vault of Night is a very intricate raid, with many puzzles and tasks to perform, so can be very difficult to learn it all in a pug. We will break down the entire raid and show and explain how to succeed every step of the way.

Space is limited so reserve your spot ahead of time! If you would like to reserve a space in this Saturday's event, please send in-game mail or tell to me on Gingerspyce. You can also stop by my livestream at Twitch channel vooduspyce if you have any questions or to sign up.

This event will be livestreamed on DDO’s Twitch channel DDOstream so even if you're not on Sarlona, you can watch, learn and ask questions live. This year we are simulcasting our teaching raids on multiple Twitch channels so that viewers can see moments when the part splits or from tank point of view, etc. This week's event will be simulcasted by my guildie Gijo on his Twitch channel highlordpudding. You can watch both streams at the same time at multitwitch.tv/ddostream/highlordpudding.

Thank you to the community for all the support and we hope to see you in raids soon :)

Much love,

Voodu and The High Lords of Malkier

PS. You can check out our Collection of Teaching Raid Videos in the Player Guides, Strategies, Walkthoughs, and FAQ forum that we did in previous years.

If you've never ran VON 5&6 I'd recommend to join this teaching raid because if nothing else, you'll at least know basics of it when you will inevitably pug it.

That raid is fun, but it does have several "guide dang it" moments.

And if there is a teacher who gives good rundown on raids in DDO its Voodu.
