Low life bubble dwarf 17/3 FvS healer

gotta question several feat choices... FvS get so many spell points that taking mental toughness and imp mental toughness is a total waste. Get your shield mastery feats done in heroics and use epic feats for epics. Are you running out of SP often? shrine or buy a few cheap spell point pots for the few times you really need them. Are you casting dps spells and healing? Or are you a tank/off healer? Either way FvS never run outta spell points. Use SLA's for healing as much as possible, if destiny aoe healing passives don't get the job done 90% of the time.
Empower healing... kinda is a trap feat... Healers overheal 95% of the time anyway and you already are taking epic spell power positive for more healing crit etc. You could take another meta magic instead.

Enlarge spell? Ummm why? Ever? FvS have plenty of ray spells for range already if you need to hit something far away and you don't want to use a thrown/missile weapon. In fact I have never found as any caster when that feat actually is better than something else. even just taking toughness again is better. What are you using enlarge for even? Are you casting healing spells at really far range? If party is that far away something is wrong anyway and chances are they are going to go outta line of sight anyway before that heal hits them.

pick up toughness so you can get epic toughness also. take legendary toughness at 31. You want to tank... Hitpoints help you stay alive.

dreamscape vs deific warding? Dreamscape buff is up for 30 seconds only and has to be recast every min, plus the randomness of the buff may not even help. If your a tank prr and mrr up all the time always helps a lot more.

Now that you took your shield mastery skills in heroics instead of wasting 3 feats on mental tough/imp mental tough and enlarge. also obviously you wouldn't be taking epic mental toughness and lots of options to fit something else better. You can fit in intensify & epic dmg reduction (again you want to tank) and think about elusive target or forced escape (both have uses and both can help you tank.)
You run out of sp often as FvS healer. If you haven't played, you don't know.

and without the spellcasting epic feats you don't get a lot of SP. You should be spamming "HEAL" not "CURE" to heal people with 4k+hp when doom reapers hit them for 2k. You should be running out of mana.

Did a slight revision to the build and put together a "no raid item" gearset that some others were interested in. It's a really basic gearset that's pretty down and dirty that anyone can expand on if they've got better items available (I left some augments out, but stuff like hamp aug and other goodies would be good to slot in there).

Surely youre using Scrolls for healing except at the key times in battle when you dont have time for the scroll animation/cast time?

Close wounds costs 2sp and heals pretty nicely on anyone who doesn't treat HAMP like a dump stat. Unless you're in difficult content where you've got a beefy tank who needs constant huge heals because their HP is bouncing around like a tennis ball or a long raid where even smaller heals eat up the spell point pool, one shouldn't really have too many mana issues.

Surely you’re trolling, otherwise I hope you’re never healing a group I’m in. There is zero reason to be scroll healing anyone as a healer. Only time you’re scroll healing is on a melee or ranged character while heroic or epic levelling.

Seriously? Raiding was always about scroll healing when you didnt need to cast spells to conserve SP. That is the exact reason to scroll when you can.

If youre running Reaper then youre going to have heaps of Lost Souls to replenish.

Note this was in response to the claim that FVS run out of SP when healing. Something Ive never done in any of the raids Ive ever healed.

This isn’t 2014 or whenever heroic shroud was the end game. Nobody scroll heals in raids anymore. If your post was supposed to be in response to running out of mana, the easier, and more accurate, comment would’ve been mentioning the use of close wounds SLA, beacons and renewal.

Here's where I'd ideally want EDs at post-u66, but it requires 2 destiny tomes to pull off (which I have, but not all other players would).

Is the aura still blinding and invisible let us know when thats fixed
One can only hope soon. But can run the non-barrier version of EA as an option; just use searing light or another attack to keep the -5 prr/mrr debuff up on bosses. Depending on the player/fights, that may be the preferred choice over having to be in melee range use the barrier.

I've been playing a modified version of this build working with what I got on aasimar fvs, first life, and has done fine healing r10 vecnas, LoB r..4?, VoD r...4?Don't remember let's go with 4, PN r1 pug as solo healer, FoM r1 shortman and a bunch of other stuff. Does great.

Edit: I'd also add that it is tanky and mobile enough to kite the T-Rex in Skeletons in the Closet for a long time while being targeted by adds and/or the ghost; even after getting the debuffs stacked up, as well as temporarily tank the end boss, with 0 raid items, no con tome, no remnant stuff, no consumables.

Losing the bubbles is less than ideal, but Aasimar animations feel so much easier on the eyes and gangnam style dance is op - it also works well enough with that setup that I have no qualms since I'm not doing any raid pushing or somesuch. Maybe eventually!

Thanks for putting this up, it was extremely helpful to have a point of reference - I had never played FvS healer before and this made it a lot easier to pick up.

Mana for days with this build. R2 5-man Project Nemesis done:
If you could share what ED point spread you went with, that'd be great. I'd theory crafted out where I'd go myself post u66 (but it used 2 destiny tomes to get all the goodies I wanted); so your setup without those 2 points would be handy for fresh characters without those tomes.

How highly do you value the primal avatar tree? I didn't end up feeling it that much (also lower EDP than your slated); => dropped it, less hassle with mantles (3 was a bit much for me to carebear about it tbh), let me pick up deific warding and AoE LoH. Took up no-autofail fort + -5% sp costs from Draconic instead (6 point investment) and had an easier time picking up the fluff from US & EA in return (11-13 points in Primal to 6 points in Draconic).

Edit: another nice minor thing was Eschew Materials for more inventory space from the draconic destiny. Valued on a first life no-investment healer.

Don't really feel the lack of heal buttons, but I can imagine in some shortman or push raids the lack of SP recovery could be felt; and temp hp from cocoon is a nice buffer that I no longer have. But in those situations it is often imperative to also be tanky so staying in US mantle feels good.

The end effect is slightly worse healing and much worse sp management in favour of free but limited AoE heal + considerable boost in tankiness. It would technically also let you put less points in Falconry if you moved one feat to Deific Warding for the Qual HP from US. Choices, choices.

If you run raids that go long (on harder settings) then primal is a must have for those that can't afford to pop mnemonic pots like candy. In really hard raids then EA mantles wins out for the increased heals and one just has live with burning mnemonics to keep going (as eRoSS/LRoSS aren't enough). Running casters of any sort heal or DPS is an expensive thing in harder raids; they eat limit resources to keep their mana pool up; primal is the best defense against that.
