reaper forge - how it works?

Does it add reaper enchantment to original item or works the "destroy the old, give a new" way?
I'm worried about mythics and augments.

If the item has a Reaper Bonus already, you can only destroy the item for fragment(s).
If the item does not have a Reaper Bonus you can spend 75 fragments to add the slot specific Reaper Bonus to the item. From my experience everything else about the item remains unchanged.

I enchanted a mythic +1 hat with a reaper enchant and retained the mythic bonus and slotted augments.
