Remember: the content you most want to run _IS_ the fastest xp.

Nope, not at all. What I enjoy the most is actually terrible, terrible XP and generally favor I don't really need. Can't say why but for some reason the content and story behind it just tickles my fancy and I will run it every live and thoroughly.

There are things I will certainly grind for the XP and grind quickly at that but I don't enjoy that content at all. I grind it out as a means to an end, that end is pure XP not enjoyment.

It would be nice if the two intersected more often, sometimes it does though if I get a really good group in Wiz-King that is a fun time, I really like the story behind that but it's the only quest I can think of that I "like" that I "run fast" and that give "good" XP. The others are just purely a means to an end to get the stupid TR grind over faster.
Yeah fair enough. I probably have things like this I like to do, too. Like run around in the demonweb, despite getting absolutely nothing out of it.

My problem with this is that content I MOST want to run is gated behind content I LEAST want to run.

Example: Sharn Chain 2 is some of my favorite content in the entire game. I barely ever get to play it, because Chain 1 is so ****ing bad. Not even the entire chain, just 2 quests in it. But they are bad enough that I don't want to take time out of my busy leveling schedule or burn time on my expensive XP potions to do them. They are just that bad.

Example 2: Gianthold. It has some excellent content. But god that wilderness zone... getting to quest entrances in GH is such a cruel mockery of fun that I haven't even set foot in the zone in years.

I could go on and on. Its not even about leveling anymore. Its gotten to the point where I hover my mouse over the DDO launcher and thing "I could go play!" and then I think about how much ******it is between double-clicking that icon and things I actually find fun... and I end up clicking elsewhere.
Heh. I detest that giant hold wilderness... It's definitely one of the reasons why I try to avoid GH altogether.

I assume the two quests from Sharn you dislike are "Best Laid Controlled Detonations and Box Smashing Tedium Plans" and "Just Hover Board Hit Box Mess Business"?

Goes two different ways for me. In a group, I will run anything and enjoy playing it. Not sure why but just makes them much more enjoyable (Yes even The Pit). Solo, I like Short and Medium length quests. Long drawn out quests bore me quickly and I don't really enjoy them.

What? Like trolling forum post on a game you claim you dont play anymore? Sounds like less fun than escorting Coyle back in the day.

I canceled my sub over the VIP debacle but kept playing. Only slowed down recently duh to IRL issues(and my gaming rig deciding to go all ***** on me). Only this most recent nonsense with the dramatically over-priced "supporter packs" have me wondering if I will ever log in to the game again.

I will say attacking and insulting forum posts like yours are definitely not likely to help me load up the game. But hey, what's one less paying customer, right?

Heh heh heh YUP. Thems the ones.

What's funny is they were really fun the very first time I played them. The hoverboard one in particular because it was new and inventive. Then the second time I realized I had to tediously kill every single mob in a 3 dimensional space in order to advance and I realized I never wanted to play it again. Ever.

"Best Laid Controlled Detonations and Box Smashing Tedium Plans" is again an example of something that was fun exactly 1 time(when I played it as a lvl 30 on heroic difficulty). Then I realized how tedious it was. THEN I played it on Epic R1 and found out the mobs could spam tactical detonation at very high speeds creating chain stuns without needing LOS. There's tons of ways to play around it, but it makes the fight with them very tedious and dull.

Fun fact: if player artificer characters could cast tactical detonation as fast as the guys in Sharn, they'd actually be decently powerful characters.

Ugh, especially on the part about the tactical detonation guys. While I admit they are not as bad as they once were, they are still one of the many reasons why I try to avoid that quest.

Reach for The Sky has the potential to be bad too, but at least you get the option to skip most of them by taking the "Back Stage Pass".
